Tea of the Week for June 15, 2020: Gingerly Pineapple Oolong Tea!
Those ice cream flavours sound really interesting. Maybe someday I’ll get over there to try the. :)
Fair warning: once you try their ice cream it may be difficult to go back to ‘ordinary’ ice cream. It’s just so good. Beyond the unique flavors – the quality is so top notch. Like one of the flavors that this tea was inspired by, the Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper – the strawberry is so strong and flavorful. You don’t taste a ton of honey balsamic, it’s more like an accent that enhances the flavor of the strawberry. It makes it taste even more like strawberry. Every once in a while, you’ll get a subtle hit of pepper. But mostly, it’s strawberry. So yummy.
Is there any way to get an ingredient listing for the final pouch (12th day of Christmas) tea from the advent calendar?
OOOH! I love the idea of grab bags! If there’s any left when I get paid again on Monday, I’ll make an order.
BTW: I’m currently indulging in a nice cup of “Earl Grey Cupcake”, which I’m fairly certain is one of my all-time favorites of yours! Great stuff!
reblends – anything caramel haha followed by vanilla.
here are some i’d be up for, tried to think of some non black teas ha!
-lemon lime kuchika
-forest berry silver needle
-toffee bar chai
-decadence
Thanks! I will add these to the poll – with one exception: White teas are not included in the holiday box for a couple of reasons, but the main one is that the white teas are extraordinarily bulky & difficult to package. But thanks for including the white tea on this – I think you’ll be happy in a couple of months! :)
already with the vote suggestions? Yowzaz.
I will keep saying PEACHY KEEN but I’m sure it doesn’t have a chance again… so I don’t expect to see it on the poll so soon…
Berried Treasure as well…
Smoky Butterscotch Peach
Tomato, Basil and Black Pepper (the black one)
Pineapple Marshmallow Black
Dreamsicle Puerh
Coconut Banana Cream Pie Hojicha? Too soon?
I loved the idea of Frank’s Trail Mix blend (never tried it) but would love to see different ingredients in it?
Definitely a Marshmallow Treat Genmaicha (always)… I’m up for suggesting whichever one someone else wants…
Some of my favorites I still have around in the cupboard, so don’t want to mention those just yet. :D
This REALLY looks like a summer tea list though….
Speaking of which I’ve been meaning to ask if you ever created a heavily flavored Pineapple and coconut black tea blend before?
Thanks! Houjicha is another issue similar to the white tea issue that I mentioned above – too bulky.
I have contemplated the trail mix blend for some time because I really enjoyed that the first time it came out – but I would need to really think about it because – no nuts. Sunflower seeds instead? I’m hesitant given some of the previous thoughts that were expressed about sunflower seeds in my previous blends. Not trying to shut the idea down at all – just kinda thinking “out loud” – brainstorming? about how to make that tea a possibility. Also – I don’t have that recipe because it’s one that was lost to Frank’s computer crash. :(
So I would be working from scratch there. Not a real deterrent, I could probably figure it out (or at least something that enchants my tastebuds) – so again – just tossing ideas around. :)
Okay – I didn’t know you weren’t using nuts in tea? I know it’s for allergies… And I also thought you had already nixed the sunflower seeds because those do not age well at all. I’m picking them out of blends at this point before brewing, but that is entirely my fault with my aging teas. That would be tough to make a trail mix tea then without nuts/sunflower seeds. haha.
Berried Treasure!
Lemon Lavender Creamsicle
Firebolt (I can dream, right?)
Coconut Banana Cream Pie Houjicha/White (not too soon! Please!)
Coconut Flan Genmaicha
Grays Teacake Kukicha
Warm Maple Cream?
Calico & Black Cat Tea (sadly lost mine to Work Mouse)
Strawberry Lemonade Bai Mu Dan
Cherries Jubilee Bai Mu Dan!
Mango Ice Cream
I’m sure I could come up with more, but just can’t remember all my favourites right now.
