No,nothing. I enjoy the original taste of tea.
I add rock sugar but I use just one. For a certain green light tea I use lemon or nothing.
It’s quite new for me about add lemon into green light tea.
I see. Everyone was new at some point! :)
Table sugar sweetens the tea, but changes the flavor.
Rock sugar doesn’t do that.
Just do what you want, but you can enjoy the real taste of tea if you add nothing.
One does not drink green tea with sugar :)
I tend to drink tea as they are to get more of their natural flavor. However, right now I am in a Asian Tea and Tea Culture class, and I have been learning that some cultures tend to use milk and sugar. Indian and Russian mixes tend to use milk and sugar, Indian tend to put other ingredients such as nuts and spices. I suppose it is all in preference and how authentic you want try the teas. _
Personally, I enjoy both. If you have a tea that tastes good with sugar, by all means add sugar. I enjoy an Indian masala chai with both sugar and milk. Could not imagine the traditional drink served any other way. Depends on your taste for the day, and the drink itself. Tea on.
I personally love my tea plain too, but I mainly drink green or white tea so that doesn’t say much.
I drink my tea without milk or sugar except in two cases.
Iced tea seems to benefit greatly from a touch of sugar, and chai tea is traditional for milk and sugar.
My favorite iced tea is lapsang souchong and ripe puerh…. its like a half Russian caravan, maybe a broken down Russian caravan?
Broken down Russian caravan: I think my russian friends will appreciate this joke :)
I prefer honey as a sweetener to sugar.
straight up unadulterated here.
I like tea straight, but I also love how a splash of cream can kind of add some depth to a strong cup. I never do both milk and sugar though for some reason.
