About half a dozen pots, maybe the same number of gaiwan, but then maybe 150 tea cups.
Just did a quick inventory and here is what’s in my teaware collection:
2 easy gaiwans
2 rice pattern gaiwans
1 small 100ml gaiwan
3 kyusu pots
1 turret teapot
1 ruyao pancake teapot
1 cast iron teapot
1 tsuki teapot
1 purple clay teapot
1 glass teapot
1 glass test tube teapot
1 large japanese teapot
Total of 5 gaiwans, and 11 teapots. That’s a lot but after seeing how many teapots others have amassed I don’t feel so bad about my teaware hoarding anymore ;-)
At this point, I only steep Western-style and my teaware collection is pretty modest (at least by Steepster standards!):
3 teapots of various sizes (a little one for just me, a slightly larger one for splitting with a friend, and a nice big one for tea parties)
1 infuser mug (which I keep at the office for brewing tea at work)
1 thermos
6 regular mugs
9 teacups
5 clay pots
2 gaiwans
lots of cups
and a Teavana perfect tea maker
Despite the arrogance of Teavana calling it the Perfect Tea Maker it is actually good for brewing tea. The shape of it gives the tea plenty of room to expand. I have the glass model and use it a lot.
Haha, “perfect” is a bit silly, but it sure is a great way to make a mug of tea!
It is one of Teavana’s better products. That and their rock sugar are better than their tea I think.
Who doesn’t like talking about their collections?! I have about 23 I think including gaiwans.
3 Kyusu
3 gaiwan
7 yixing
1 Japanese clay backhandle
2 silver teapots
1 porcelain teapot
5 Japanese clay hohin
