Also interested! Does anyone know how much shipping would run me for Canada?
Shouldn’t be more than $8
Ian over at Yunomi loves the concept of group buys and is going to help me include Japanese tea in my group buys from now on :)
Update 3/6
I had the final price around $20 a slot, but then I decided I wanted to add some more unique teas to make this one even better and last longer as there won’t be another until fall/autumn.
Additions were Yunnan Sourcing’s TIE LUO HAN “IRON ARHAT” PREMIUM WU YI SHAN ROCK OOLONG TEA because I have heard amazing things about it,Yunnan Sourcing’s 2010 BAI SHA XI “TIAN JIAN” HUNAN HAND-ROASTED HEI CHA because a roasted hei cha is something I haven’t seen talked about much, and Awa Bancha from Yunomi so that I could incorporate some Japanese tea as well.
The total price per slot is $25.62 and I am no going to round up, I want everyone to pay what is rightfully their amount due per slot.
If Steepster would like to buy in prior to pictures and YouTube video, I can put up a link and share it here with the details as confirmed once I finalize the last two purchases.
you ever check out Essence of Tea Yancha. I’ve heard good things about them.
also have you read allans review of the 2010 yet. hmmmm
@Haveteawilltravel I think high end oolongs deserve their own special group buy :), might even be some underground stuff to go on!
@Rasseru I’ve read two good reviews and AllanK’s review… Scott suggested the tea and I really want to see how everyone reviews a roasted hei cha. In regards to it being placed in this group buy: It was added prior to AllanK’s review, it was just random that he reviewed it a few hours after I added it.
‘One mans …. is another mans ….’
I would be all over a high end oolong group buy
I won’t be inviting you because a good friend protects their friends… as of late, I’ve been accused of causing unexpected purchases and I don’t want to continue to hurt your wallet :p
Is it here where one signs up or somewhere else. I would like to join please.
Cheers. Order placed.
People haven’t put link up, not sure why. It’s on Liquid Proust’s etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/271056723/dark-matter-2016
Front page, there is a link for the Etsy page where the purchase can be made.
I’m using Etsy to save cost on shipping. Elminate time needed. Put a end to people signing up and never paying. And hopefully providing a way to get Reddit and Facebook in on the action as I continue to make connections and provide converage for vendors and unique teas.
Pretty please I am in. Please let me know when you need payment.
Please let me know how and when to pay for my participation/slot.
Some great sounding teas in the selection, I shall keep my eye out for the link. I don’t want to miss this one. Thanks Liquid Proust!
Link is now live for Steepster members. I went ahead and put 49 slots up as I am willing to drop one of the two I wanted. If anyone wants to support even more, there are no donations like the last few group buys as this goes through Liquid Proust Teas; however, you can support these group buys and LPT buy purchasing one of the bamboo containers.
Feel free to make suggestions for the fall/autumn group buy as I haven’t really thought much about it since there is much time between now and then.
Thanks everyone for supporting me in the constant pursuit to help the tea community come together in such awesome ways to support vendors!

+1 in as well. Thanks again for doing this, my first group buy
Thanks for making this so easy. It’s my first group buy and I have a feeling it won’t be my last one.
Suggestions for the autumn group buy?
Autumn would be a fantastic time for a wuyi/roasted oolong buy. I’d also love to see another location related group buy. Like your Japan one. Maybe an Indian tea group buy? Assam, darjeeling blacks/oolong/whites etc.
There was a Japan one? Man I missed out…
@cookies I think that an India tea group buy would be wonderful. If enough interest is there I can surely make new contacts :)
@Gooseberry Spoon it was when I got back from my study abroad in Tokyo last year. Was a smaller scale, but I think it included over 9000g per person because stuff is pretty cheap over there.
Well I’ll know who to ask for recommendations should I go back. My last trip was sadly too crammed full of sightseeing to do much shopping.
India sounds like a great idea. I’d be tempted to add Nepal as well: they have great Darjeeling-style teas.
I love the idea of an Indian group buy :)
