Below this comment I need the following to reply: those who are willing to sacrifice 1g of each tea for those who are asking for 10g and those who are asking for 10g instead of 7g.
Those who sacrifice 1 gram per tea will have that tea replaced by something from my personal stash, but I believe the more people involved in this group sampling the better awareness of flavor profiles and overall experience/knowledge will end up showing up on Steepster (plus, I really dislike telling someone they cannot participate)
You can put me in whatever group makes this easier on you, considering all the work you are doing to pull it off. If my non-decision stresses you out, let me know and I’ll pick a side ;-)
Ditto for me, whatever’s easiest for you.
I’m flexible. Whatever works for you.
I’m happy to take a little less of each oolong if needed.
Same for me. No need to replace it with anything else, though.
Ditto for me … I’ll take less if that helps the logistics
Sorry that it’s been a while since I commented, but I just wanted to confirm that I am perfectly happy to go for whatever works best! 7g should be plenty for me, I think :-)
Im fine with whatever as well. Oops didn’t read the rest
I’ll go for whatever is easiest too. I’m just happy to be a part of it.
everything bought from today on will be 200g so everyone gets 10g. Please understand that I had no idea that this would have enough interest for 20 people. I will be putting my best effort, as I have, to provide a sampler that won’t disappoint.
I’ve been following this thread since it began, and would like to be a part if there’s still room. You can PM me for references.
Count me in. This should be really fun!
I’ll commit! You sure an extra $5 is going to be enough for int’l shipping?
I suppose there are different ways to do this…
1 ) take advantage of me saying I’ll pay for it
2) prepay and then pay the difference (a few bucks?)
3 ) instead of prepaying, pay the week of shipment
4 ) begin a game of money tag where each of us sends one another tea never knowing who owes who… but, we each keep sending tea after one another
Haha, I could send you some tea anyway :)
With the addition of five more people, I am able to expand a bit more.
I am currently trying to configure the pricing and amount of the aged Taiwan and yancha so I am able to add some ‘beauty’: https://www.jteainternational.com/tea/aged-beauty-1979
Looking over the list right now and knowing about the surprises as well, I can say that this is going to be worth all the emails and logistics of organizing :)
Edit
I may have just stumbled across some of the last of something quite wonderful… but I have to contemplate if I should include something that I would about buy out.
hooray! I’m sure everybody appreciates all the trouble you’re going through :)
OK, I’ll take the last spot if it’s still open.
Just had this crazy idea
As I said, this is a crazy idea; as I realized that everything would be finalized around Christmas / New Years, I thought to myself: “This is actually a pretty easy way to sneak in a Christmas gift to many people all at once in a shipment that would already be going out.”
That thought was rethought and I decided that even though it’s crazy, it’s crazy awesome.
So here’s a ridiculous open offer that I am an not asking of anyone: If you’d like to gift 19 people an aged oolong please message me and we will discuss details (all of which will be documented). I do have an extensive list of teas that could be included.
Today the Tea Trekker order came in; totally forgot they were located in the US because at first I was wondering how it got here so fast.
I’m also creating a work station for this project. I went ahead and bought another scale specifically for aged and delicate teas. I’m still pricing black vs kraft bags with no window in them. As for labels, I am able to create them well in advance so would the following work for everyone:
‘Tea type
Year
Company’
Feel free to throw any suggestions my way
I’d put the year first, but that’s just how my mind likes to organize things. In terms of information for the label, those fields look fine.
What about writing the year on the left vertically with the oolong type and company being horizontal?
That would be fine by me. It would help the year stand out.
