Aged Oolong Sampler Group Buy, Update 10-30-15
ooh, I’d be interested but blargh to overseas shipping. do you think they’d be okay hanging out in their box in my parents’ house until my next visit (probably springtime)?
If that is an issue, I can double wrap them in good packaging and provide a box that can just be stuck in a closet… this won’t be until December/January though so you have time to think about it
How many grams will be in each sample?

I am unable to answer this question truthfully as I do not know yet. Aged oolongs can vary in price per gram quite a bit so it is hard to know. I’m going to try to keep the bill under $500, though that is a bit steep for some so I would just section it off. I’ll know more as time goes on. My projected goal is a weight of 100g per person; however, this number can become 200g without realized it due to selection and what I find out.

Anyways… what I’ve got planned out is going to run at around $35 a person so I am asking : Should I slim this down, and if so where would you like it to occur?
I went through everything and got what I consider to be a wide range of oolong variations. They are as follows:
1986 Tung Ting 7g @ $5.33
2006 Anxi TieGuanYin 10g @ $1.60
1988 Ginseng 10g @ $2.80
1996 Ze Shong 10g @ $4
2009 Shui Xian 7g @ $2
1986 Lishan 10g @ $7
1980 Alishan ? $2 (partial gift)
2010 DaHongPao free
and
from Wuyi Mawuyan (which are the two I don’t want eliminated)
1995-1996 Rougui 10g @ $4
2009 DaHongPao ?g @ $1.60
I know the picture I upload is all weird looking, but I would pay for all of this up front over the course of 8 weeks while acquiring better packaging for 10g portions and storing them with printed labels.
At this point this is going to happen, but I need a confirmation on who will be for sure in come December because I am estimating and buying at 15 people.
How come the 1999 Aged Muzha Tieguanyin from TTC went bye bye? :-(
Well, a few reason. The first would be because Chawangshop gave a high recommendation for their 2006 TGY and considering I didn’t even mention it, I’m going to assume that it is a good call to trust them :)
Also, I decided on going through them for the ginseng oolong since that was a variant that nobody was offering (that I saw)
The last reason was pricing.
I’d be interested in participating in this group buy if it’s still open. I’ve been meaning to learn more about aged oolongs.
No need to slim down IMO. I wouldn’t mind going even a little more since it is not often we get a chance to sample such a wide variety. Count me in!
I’d love to take part in this, if you’ll be able to ship to the UK! I’m obviously more than happy to cover the total cost of shipping, etc.!
That looks like a good deal at $35. Lots of interesting teas. Count me in.
I have the awful feeling that this sampler may wind up costing me a lot more money in the not-too-distant future.
