This isn’t as good as my Tazo concentrated chai tea latte mix, but it’s pretty darn tasty for a teabag. Mmm mmm! This is a very satisfying cup with a little skim milk and Truvia added. Yummy!!
I’ve made this at work a couple times, and it was nowhere near as tasty as this cup. I think it’s because the hot water tap at work isn’t quite hot enough. I enjoy this significantly more at home, and I suspect that’s why. My advice is to be sure to use boiling water to get the most flavor out of this one!
Preparation
Upon opening the bag, I oddly smell spearmint – not chamomile – first thing. Hmmm, how strange. The ingredients on the package only list chamomile, rose petals, and “soothing herbs.” As their website reveals, one of those herbs is spearmint leaves. Mystery solved (except for why the spearmint smells so strongly!) The taste of “Calm” involves a lot of flavors. As per the website, the herbs are quite a few things, all of which play their part in the taste of this blend. Thankfully, the chamomile presents its flavor above all the others – very good. The spearmint takes a back seat and the lemongrass laces the edges. Floating through the middle, somewhere, are subtle notes of rose and lavender, just barely present.
My main problem with this blend – everything tastes a bit flat, like the ingredients are old or something of that nature.
Tazo could have done far, far worse than this blend, and I quite like that they seem to have spent the effort to craft it well. On my personal enjoyment scale, I would rate it a 76/100.
Backlog from last night – sample sipdown from kittylovestea I had a couple bagged teas to try last night. early grey and i? we don’t get along because of that bergamot stuff :P While it wasn’t anything delicious, there was a small part of me that can see how this might be pretty tasty as a latte. still though? not a winner simply because it’s not my kinda tea :) nice to cross it off my list though!
I’m finally making headway with all these teabag samples I’ve had since forever. So since I’m kind of on a chamomile roll…here’s my last chamomile tea!
Oh, P.U.! This is not going to be a good one. It is stinky! Yuck. Well, it surprisingly doesn’t taste NEARLY as bad as it smells. I still don’t really want to drink it though. Who wants to hold their nose when they drink a cup of tea? Not me.
Ah, at long last! My cupboard is finally chamomile free! :P

I really love Iced tea on a hot, hot day. I was sooooo lucky to find out I had more of Tazo Iced Passion tea. I’m going to have to make more tonight for tomorrow. I bought a pitcher last week to make the tea in. It was worth the $4. Now, this is the first iced tea I have ever made. It is the best. Today, the heat index reached 100 degrees. On another note, I cleaned my apartment some tonight. A clean apartment is better than a messy one.
Preparation
Backlog. I needed a quick fix of caffeine after a long day of class to have energy to meet up with a friend for dinner, so I stopped by Starbucks on the way and chugged an iced tea. It was actually tastier this time around, but that may be because I was also super thirsty. Anyway, not a bad iced tea for when I’m in a pinch.
Backlogging from yesterday. So the power in my apartment went out yesterday, so I sought refuge and internet at the nearest place I could – Starbucks. The black tea is not exactly superb, but it’ll do in a pinch. Especially when it makes me feel less guilty for taking up a seat for more than an hour.
Huh, it has both black tea and rooibos.
I was reluctant to get this given the ratings, but I have not had even a halfway acceptable decaf chai yet, and it was there, so I figured it had to be better than some inaccessible ideal of decaf chai that actively doesn’t suck.
This is not bad. It’s pretty much classic chai spices and has the advantage of actually tasting like chai spices, instead of fake vanilla flavoring. It also doesn’t taste excessively rooibos-y. And they didn’t leave the black pepper out like some chai blends do.
The flavor’s a bit weak, even after a long steep. Otherwise it reminds me of the chai that you get at the indian buffet. The one I can’t have any more because of the caffeine. I guess this will be an acceptable substitute.
EDIT: I think what it needs is either more cinnamon or more ginger. I’m getting enough of the cardamom and black pepper, but not the cinnamon or ginger. Of course it also needs real black tea, but I can’t fault it for being what I bought.

Had a bag of this! I didn’t expect much. It kind of ranks down there with the worst Earl Greys I’ve ever had. But it seems like any of the bagged Earl Greys are WAY worse than the loose leaf. I swear I’m not being a tea snob… even Harney’s teabag of Earl Grey was not as good as their loose leaf. Loose Earl Grey is one of my favorites but bagged Earl Grey is some of the worst I’ve ever had. The bergamot must be the difference. But this one smelled like a fake sort of lemon and the taste is a bit too bitter. Not really like bergamot. Luckily I only had the one bag.
i caught this at target on clearance (i think because tazo redesigned their boxes). i was very excited given that i like apricot and vanilla. i tried it iced first (as per the box instructions) and it was ultra bitter. poured it out and tried it again hot for 3 mins (as per the box instructions) and it was still bitter. i tried it one more time for only 2 minutes because thats what i brew my loose white teas at; still bitter. also, the temp i used the whole time was the white tea setting. i am really sad, i wanted to LOVE this tea
Ahhh Tazo Passion, when you want something thirst quenching after sitting in a hot car running errands. Perfection. I just finished a box but I have another on backup when they went on sale at the grocery store a few months ago. I think I just guzzled through 32oz in 20 minutes. I added a touch of sweetener but I usually enjoy this without, even with the tartness.
Obviously, I take this iced.
1 bag per 16oz of boiling water and then into a pitcher and in the fridge.
It has been awhile since I had this, but earlier in the week I brewed up 24oz to keep in the fridge and I plowed through it tonight with dinner. Since this tea is pretty strong, I can get away with using 2 teabags for 24oz which is nice. I used to add sweetener to this but I’ve managed to enjoy it unsweetened for awhile which makes it a healthy alternative to diet soda.
Still love this stuff and will be picking up a few more boxes since it’s on sale at Giant this week.
Preparation
I love this tea iced and thankfully, it tastes the same brewed at home as it does in store. I take 2 packets in just over 2 cups of water and let it steep for awhile and also let it cool down and serve over ice. I am a big hibiscus fan and love the lemony notes in it. Delicious!
