Before I left Starbucks, we could get two tins of Tazo sachets for free to clear out the stock of them in preparation for the Teavana tins. So I picked up two of Refresh since I really like what the tarragon adds. I have no idea what it adds, but it just really does make it different than the replacement for this, Mint Majesty.

I have a tin at home and a tin at work, though I have not had to open the one at home (it helps to already have a tin of spearmint and like that THE MOST), but you better believe the work one is in full use.

Whenever my stomach hurts, I make some.

When I was afraid to have any caffeine, this was my tea. I got sick of it though.

It’s hard to say much more about it…it’s mint.

Not bad…I had a cup while helping my son with his homework. It wasn’t anything special, but definitely lighter than the chai I made the kids.

drank Vanilla Rooibos by Tazo

Tea picked up from Starbucks this afternoon — I guess Starbucks is still carrying Tazo tea despite their recent acquisition of Teavana. There was supposed to be a guest speaker beofre our class today but I just found out that the speaker called in sick, which is annoying because I’M STILL SICK and made it to class an hour early for nothing.

So about this rooibos, it’s not bad. I mean, you either like rooibos or you don’t. But as far as rooibos blends are concerned, it’s a bit un-inspired. I definitely get the vanilla but not so much the other ingredients. I’m accustomed to drinking my rooibos teas with soymilk and I thought this was a lot better with two coffeemate creamers and a sugar packet added. I definitely think this would be nice as a latte.

I bought this tea on a whim, just an hour ago, but now that I’ve tasted it, I have to go back and buy at least 5 more boxes. I’m purposely waiting a couple hours before I go back to the same store so I don’t look like a tea-obsessee(which, I most definitely am).
As with most white teas, if you brew this apricot vanilla creme tea hot, it will have a strange sour-ish, bitter, almost metallic-like (aluminum, to be precise) taste. I always avoid brewing white (and often, green, too) teas hot for this very reason.
My favorite way to enjoy this white tea is to simply place the bag in room-temperature water. The apricot flavor will infuse into the water within a few minutes, so you don’t have to brew this overnight. It’s a lovely treat at anytime of day with any meal. I’m currently on my 2nd cup of this tea with the same bag, and I suspect I can pull at least another 2-3 more cups (most likely, even more) as a coldbrew.

Well, this was sad. No peach whatsoever, and even the cucumber was questionable. This basically tasted like a light green tea. I had it both hot and cold back to back just to see if the flavor would be much different, but I wasn’t impressed either way. Don’t get me wrong…it’s not a bad tea. I will still drink it, but I will drink it when I want a light, cold green tea. That’s it.

Overall a very mild spice blend. Not overwhelming like I thought it would be. Needed a little bit of sweetener for my personal preferences. I still think I’d like a stronger flavor, but overall still delicious.

I managed to pick some of the full leaf sachets up before they disappeared. Put 2 into a large mug and steeped this morning.

Refreshingly minty and nice. I enjoy the little bit that the tarragon puts in the flavour though I couldn’t describe it.

Hibiscus…not bad
Slurping fruity, juicy tea
I should try it iced

I’m normally not a fan of hibiscus. I was actually excited to not find it on this ingredient list….until I realized I was skipping over the first ingredient! The tart is there, but it’s juicy in a way that makes it more palatable than normal. I’ve also learned the art of the slurping sip….to aerate the tea. Maybe that’s helping to improve my appreciation. After my mouth stops puckering, the aftertaste seems rather floral. I think this would be a good base tea for mixed drinks. The color is beautiful!

I tried this cold yesterday and found that, because of the strong hibiscus note, this is similar to Tazo’s Passion tea. This one replaces Passion’s passionflower flavor with a more dark fruit/jam flavor. I definitely prefer it cold because hint of earthy/dirt flavor I was sort of picking up on when warm is gone. I probably would continue buying Passion over this because it feels slightly more refreshing on hot days than I think this would.

I don’t know why I keep brewing hibiscus blends hot when I already know I usually only like them cold….not rating this till I’ve given it a fair chance. I will say that I picked up cherry in this, which made me happy.

drank Earl Grey by Tazo

So, I found myself at work without my usual tea. Being that I was in a tight spot, I thought I might just grab some tea bags from the cafeteria at the hospital I work at. What did I pick up? You guessed it: Tazo Earl Grey. I don’t want to say that it was terrible. “Some tea” is better than “no tea,” but I would never go out of my way to pick this stuff up at the market. It brews up quite dark, which isn’t a problem, but it is overwhelmingly perfumey, and there seems to be some sort of chemical aftertaste. Not good. Do not buy! Hopefully the Tazo English Breakfast tea that I bought for later in the day is considerably better. We shall see!

Meh. It’s an OK go-to tea if I’m out and about, avoiding caffeine, and don’t trust the water temperature of the establishment. (e.g. “Go ahead and scald this tea because it can take it.”) A mouth punch with its tartness. I like to leave the teabag in for a long time, making the water almost syrupy.

drank Wild Sweet Orange by Tazo

When I first bought this tea, I loved it…it was the first grocery store tea I’d ever tried that actually had flavor! This tea has an EXTREMELY strong orange flavor (almost like drinking hot orange juice, but without the pulp). It’s tart when it hits your tongue, but there is an oddly sweet aftertaste due to the licorice root. Now that I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy some much better quality teas, I’m glad to finish this box off and won’t be re-purchasing.

I like this tea after dinner. I wish it didn’t have citric acid in it. Still in search of a purer form of orange peel tea.

drank China Green Tips by Tazo
14 tasting notes

Most green teas are known for their vegetal aroma. Tazo®’s China Green Tips meets this expectation. The first waves of fragrance from the bag remind me of freshly cut grass and running barefoot through the backyard. Raw, clean, and pastoral, but not particularly distinctive. Brewing this tea doesn’t enhance the aroma further, yet the playful, warm gold color persuades you to dive in nonetheless.

Taste-wise, China Green Tips proves that what you smell is often what you taste. It glows with a medium body and a pleasant grassiness that’s typical of green tea without being too strong. The smooth, zen-like finish may be what I like most about this tea, though. It’s almost purifying, as if each sip draws out the toxins from your body. If one wanted to taste the lush, mist-shrouded Wuyi Mountains or the calm intoning of a bamboo flute, this cup may be your gateway.

That said, China Green Tips is relatively plain. It lacks the complexities or undertones that other unadulterated green teas have. (By “unadulterated,” I mean without any additional ingredients.) My guess is the Mao Feng leaf used here isn’t one of the most savory types to come out of China. Some tea drinkers may not mind this, but I have a hunch that the more seasoned tea enthusiasts would opt for something more sophisticated.

drank Vanilla Rooibos Parfait by Tazo

I expected a much stronger vanilla flavor and was initially disappointed by how little I tasted the vanilla in this tea. But now that I’ve adjusted to what it’s really like, I actually quite enjoy it. The rooibos flavor is pretty strong, but it is pleasantly mingled with apple and cinnamon and that little hint of vanilla. There’s also a bit of sweetness to the aftertaste. It’s still not my favorite, but it’s an easy, soothing option for a bedtime tea.

This tea is strong and malty and just a bit bitter if you drink it straight. It’s delicious with milk! I drank an entire box and enjoyed every cup, but my not re-purchase because I’m getting into loose-leaf black teas which I enjoy even more.

I love Earl Grey, but this one really wasn’t my favorite. It was surprisingly bitter and the bergamot flavor was too heavy for my liking. I drank the entire box of this, but won’t be re-purchasing because there are so many better versions of this tea out there.

I really wanted to like this tea. It has a great name and it brews up to a beautiful fuschia color. But I really don’t taste the other flavors that are supposed to be here; the hibiscus overwhelms everything else. Hot, it’s almost undrinkable. Cold, it’s better, but still quite tart and sour. I suppose I could sweeten it, but if I’m going to be drinking sugar, I’d rather have lemonade than this stuff. Definitely won’t be re-purchasing.

I had the same problem with Passion: too much hibiscus for my liking. It gave the tea a sort of syrupy quality, too.

I haven’t tried many green teas yet and I haven’t enjoyed most of the ones I’ve had. But this one is delicious! The mint and lemon flavors are both quite subtle, but just present enough to make it so refreshing. It’s good both hot and iced. I’m working on my second box!
