My very favorite. Starbucks Europe (I’m in Greece) doesn’t carry this one. They carry every OTHER Tazo tea. Just not this one. Of course. My mom sends it to me in care packages…she picks it up @ Target for half the price Starbucks charges for a box!
The hibiscus is really good, and the lemongrass and rose hips make it extraordinary. I love it hot, even better iced. It’s also my 2 year old’s favorite…I don’t give her juice, I just give her some cold Tazo Passion, diluted with water.
I really enjoy this tea. It is very relaxing and I think it goes excellently with sweet snacks (I just had it with some chocolate chip cookies). I also think this tea has very strong flavor, all the elements shone through nicely. The only thing I don’t like is the smell – I think it is the rose, it’s kind of a sickly smell. Luckily it doesn’t taste like the dry leaf smells so all is good.
I got this on the way to class. I have been experimenting with adding milk and creamers to tea because I am used to just plain. I tried this tea with Irish cream creamer. It wasn’t horrible but I think it detracted from the tea. I definitely like this better plain.
Got to have this again today. Have been away on break and missed it! Also got to have it in my favorite mug reading: What is Anthropology? The tea was still delicious and gave me the caffeine boost I needed to unpack.
So, what’s your answer? ANTH seems to me to be a great way to have conversations about stuff I find interesting anyway, and also make some modicum of a living.
Well anthro is my major. I suppose the textbook definition is the study of human kind. More personally I think it is a good way to be come exposed to other cultures and world issues.
Funny story. Mom and I went out for dinner w/ my grandparents and I wanted to treat my mom to coffee after. It’s a bit of a hastle getting my chair in and out just for a quick trip and mom had things to do yet tonight so I just gave my order written on a piece of paper (you’ll see why in a bit) for her to run and get the drinks. I ordered a tall double pump mocha, double pump white mocha, double pump caramel, double pump SF vanilla, double pump iced dirty chai Americano w/ whip and mocha and caramel drizzle. The poor barista just kinda chuckles and says “I think we’ve made this before” and dubbed it “the works iced Americano”. It’s bad when you’re known by your drink and you’re not even the one ordering it! This really is not as good as it could be. I wish the chai concentrate itself was better. It’s kinda like ordering a fat free sugar free brownie instead of the full fat and sugar version lol.
Preparation
Quite honestly I’m amazed I like this chai because I absolutely can not stand anise. I love that they serve an organic chai. I always order my tall chai latte w/ no water and 2 chai bags. I let the latte steep and cool for 5 mins before drinking but do not remove the tea bags. For those that enjoy dirty chai lattes I suggest 2 shots for a tall. For those that enjoy flavored chai or dirty chai lattes, I suggest 2 pumps (each) vanilla, mocha, white mocha, and/or caramel. I personally like 2 of all of the above.
Today is my best friend’s birthday. She lives 1800 miles away so I can’t celebrate w/ her, but went to SBUX (she is, after all, from Seattle) in honor of her. Grande blended chai, half non fat milk, half ice, w/ mocha and caramel. I don’t like the concentrate. When I get this hot I always get it w/ the sachets, but sadly I just can’t figure out how to do it w/ the iced version. The only thing I can come up w/ would be to have the milk and water heated then steep the sachets in it, and when it’s done add the ice and blend… but that would just result in a luke warm, watery drink (as the ice would melt before it blended)… The chai spices are too strong when I order the concentrate version… they almost completely hid both the mocha and the caramel which is a MAJOR shame since chai, chocolate, and caramel (and espresso shots if you like coffee) are an amazing combo.

I got a surprise w/ LiberTEAS’ vinegar black- 2 bags of this! Now, as I said, I would normally not choose to steep this at home but after being deprived of it last time I attempted to order it and being very blessed by LiberTEAS’ generosity I decided to steep it right away. It went perfectly w/ my Tortilla Crusted Fish Lean Cuisine.

Ya know when you’re a little kid and you love a particular food… til you find out what’s in it? Well, this is one of those times. Drinking it at Starbucks never gave me the chance to look at the wrapper til now. It has lemon in it… and a hint of pear??? It’s still a very good tea w/ ginger and green tea being the strongest flavors… but now I’m tasting the lemon. :( I don’t taste the pear, but that’s fine cuz I didn’t want a pear tea… and I have no clue where the pear would come from anyway…
Preparation
This is by far my favorite bagged tea although as a rule I MUCH prefer loose leaf. I steep 1 bag in 6oz. of purified water heated at 175 degrees F. Even though most greens say to steep for 2-3 min, I like this tea stronger so I steep it for 5. Also amazing chilled or iced using extra green ginger tea for ice cubes. I don’t sweeten this hot or chilled.
I use it all the time for smoothTEAS: steep 2 tea bags in 6oz of purified water heated to 175 degrees for 3-5 min. Let cool and refrigerate. Poor in blended and add 1 cup frozen unsweetened fruit.
To make a home made version of Green Tea Ginger Ale, place 1 tea bag for each desired 6 ounce serving in large bowl and pour 175 degree temperature water over the tea bags just enough to steep. Steep for desired length and pour tea concentrate into a container of desired capacity and top off with carbonated water.
