Well, this was a surprise. I forgot I even had it. I was looking for something to drink with a light supper of steamed potstickers and spotted this.
I did not expect to like it. My experience with green teas has not, overall, recommended me to them But I did enjoy this Lipton! For me the orange and jasmine were much stronger than the passionfruit. I sweetened it lightly and it was just right with the dumplings. I’m going to try another cup with cookies and call it a night.
Preparation
I had this at a girlfriend’s place tonight. Two steeps, neither of them great, but neither of them terrible. Even with some sugar, it was… unmemorable. I tasted Yunnan, maybe a bit of Keemum.
She said it was an old bag. and, well… it was bagged. and a dusty one to.
This tea is fantastic! I love the spice/mint combination… I cant get enough… :) I keep the tea bag in the whole time I’m drinking & sometimes even top up (its not as flavorsome the second (or sometimes third) time round but its still very enjoyable!!
Can anyone tell me how much (if any caffeine) it has tho?? I cant find it anywhere on the box??
Preparation
I grew up drinking Lipton. It’s like family. Due to high BP mom and dad have switched to decaf. Normally I don’t mind. It works with cards and snacks on a Saturday night. Last night though it tasted like latex paint. Just gross. It was probably aggravated by a day of exceptionally good tea.
Denny’s just opened in town. So we abandoned our usual Saturday breakfast spot to try the new place. It was ok. Not sure how two $4 breakfasts turns in to almost $15 by adding a cup of coffee and a cup of tea, oh, and some toast. Still seems like too much. Maybe it is because I paid $1.80 for one cup with no offer of refills, and it was a horrible cup of hot tea. I drink this iced at Mom and Dad’s and it is passable. Hot it tasted fishy and just not good. Looking forward to my usual Mother Parkers hot tea next week at Steak ’N Shake.
Sorry it was meh. Our nearby Denny’s is our go-to when nobody wants to cook (love their hash brown skillets).
I’m never really impressed with Denny’s either. I’m an IHOP girl, but even their quality varies from location to location. Hopefully your not-so-good experience at Denny’s will make your next week’s “usual” taste extra yummy :D
Sunday evening cards with mom and dad. This is what they always serve over ice. Yes, the Tetley I use at home is light years better and I realize this wouldn’t even pass for tea with most of y’all but its family and you don’t trash family.
I daresay this is the fastest I’ve ever finished up a tisane, although this isn’t a particularly big box of them. While I’m hesitant to try any of Lipton’s real teas, I figured they couldn’t screw up mint — and I was right!
This is a nice blend of flavors: minty but not overpowering, with a touch of fruitness that really complements the mint. There’s a notable taste of chamomile as well, and that’s where it could be much improved in my book — it’s just intruding on the flavors that are actually good!
Overall, though, it’s hard to go wrong with mint + fruit in my book. Tasty!
