I’ve been wanting to pick this up for the heck of it and when I saw it on clearance at Target I couldn’t resist picking up a box.
It smells caramelly, though I don’t really get the vanilla that much in the dry smell. Steeped you can definitely smell the caramel but again, not so much the vanilla.
Unfortunately I’m not that impressed with the taste, even with some sugar added. It’s a bit bitter and not too impressive on the taste. Lackluster caramel and a hint of vanilla on the back of the taste. Maybe a lower temp or shorter steep will improve this. I certainly have enough to experiment with. Lol.
I’m glad I tried it and I’ll probly finish the rest of the bags. But I won’t be rebuying it. Most likely this is going to be a tea I’ll keep at work for when I want tea and don’t want to deal with any of my actual good teas. At home I have much better caramel & vanilla teas (Butiki’s Caramel Vanilla Assam to be exact. X3) for when I want a tea like that.
Preparation
Such a hard tea to find, did lipton stop the production ?
Last time i saw it, i bought 5 packs to be safe for a while.
Refreshing with a strong taste of grape, you can drink this tea at any time of the day.
I highly recommend if you like grapes.
Preparation
A friend bought this for me to get bonus air miles. It was free, it says its tea.
It actually is not too bad for a bottled tea. It is quite sweet, but you can taste the green tea. The primary taste is the lemon flavour though. Even though lemon is the strongest flavour, it is not tart or sour lemon. It was definitely thirst quenching enough. For a bottled tea-type drink I think it meets the requirements.
Surprised a Lipton tea tastes like anything in particular, but I am getting kind of a honey note from this. I dunno, I have some David’s Yunnan Black on the way and hopefully it’ll give me a better basis for comparison, but this is surprisingly decent. Not something you pay too much attention to, but there’s definitely a flavor there. Good if you’re running late and don’t have time to do a higher-quality tea justice.
I’ve had several packages of this in the tea cupboard for who knows how long. Someone gifted me with 12 boxes of various flavored lipton pyramid tea bags. I’m not a fan of lipton so it has sat around, however in an effort to clear out any old tea I have I took two boxes of it on my road trip to Oklahoma.
If I hadn’t read the box I wouldn’t have believe that this was a black tea. It tastes more like a fruit herbal to me and pretty weak on the fruit side at that. I’ve had this before and I find that I like it better iced than hot (which works out perfectly today considering that it is going to be 98ish). I don’t think this tea is anything special and there are much better teas that can be purchased at the grocery store.
Preparation
I do agree you can do better. Lipton teas don’t age well because of the paper envelopes. If you have had it any length of time that will definitely affect the taste.
I’m not sure about this one. My very first sip wasn’t likeable and I was hesitant to finish the cup, but I must have liked it enough since there’s only one bag left and I’m drinking a cup as I type.
I sweeten it with honey because I don’t like to have cane sugar before bed.
The packet says not to put milk in it, but I’m a bit of a rule bender and experimented one day and I actually prefer it with milk.
I like the calming effects of the chamomile in it and the apple pie-ness feels like a hug during cold winter nights. It’s definitely a winter drink.
When I drink this tea it makes me think of snow settling on the window sill and sitting by the fireplace wrapped in a soft faux fur blanket with a good book.
As a side note, I don’t think this tea is the one shown here, it’s in a brown packet and contains many calmatives such as chamomile.
Preparation
When I first tried this tea, I have to say, I concur whole-heartedly with one of the other tasting notes. It’s a stereotypical peppermint tea bag flavour.
It has a nice enough colour, and smells like peppermint, but when it comes to taste, this tea is pretty lack-luster. I am on a quest to find my favourite peppermint tea, and to be honest I probably wouldn’t buy this tea again. Perhaps, because it was only kept in cardboard it easily became stale, but I felt a little lost while drinking this tea.
Sadly, I feel like not a whole lot can improve this tea, and while this might just be a matter of personal taste, I’m hoping this isn’t a typical tea for the Lipton brand.
Preparation
Even though Lipton isn’t usually a favorite of mine because it can deliver a plain cup of tea, this one was okay. I was pleasantly surprised about the cinnamon— it’s common for some blends to over do it. But this one was good. I may not buy it again, but I’m happy with the box I bought.
Preparation
As others have noted, this does have the typical lack of tea flavor exhibited by most Lipton teas. The peach flavor is most prevalent, with just a hint of green tea behind it. It’s not bad, but it’s not leaping to the top of my list, either.
Preparation
Oh, Grandma. I’ve had this at her house quite a few times and every time, it is so freakishly bitter. To be fair, she plops the bag into the teapot of just-boiled water AND leaves it in there. I don’t even know what to say.
One of the best tasting teas I ever had. It is smooth and relaxing. I introduced it to many of my friends and one described it as being sexy. Everyone loves it.Problem is, I cannot find it anywhere now. Can I buy it on line?
This is a truly exceptional blend, and currently my absolute favourite. The balance between the leaves, rose petals, and lychees is superb. Enjoy this tea at any time of the day (although I would prefer others late at night). Do yourself a big favour and try this one. ** Strange thing is that whilst I procured this in Singapore, the packaging has Russian writing all over it. It is distributed by Unilever, so I guess there is a reason for it.
Preparation
Especially the smell is really lovely! You can still taste the slight bitterness of white tea, but the subtle raspberry flavor goes really well with it. Not a particularly strong flavor, but good enough for an afternoon tea.
