drank White Peach by Adagio Teas

Definitely need to steep this for the full time, or it’s not as good. The peach is a a little lighter than I was hoping, but overall not a bad tea. I also like the smell of the leaves.. mmm.. peachy!

Really? That surprises me because I’ve found all of their whites best @ 3min- especially their flavored ones.

Shanti

Well, not every white tea is the same, and not everyone likes teas the same strength. Hence, this is wombatgirl’s tasting note about her experience with this tea.

Cofftea

Shanti, no need to get snappy. I was simply stating my surprise. I was not telling her how to drink or prepare her tea. I do realize every person is different, but some differences surprise me more than others.

Shanti

Cofftea, I don’t know what your intentions are/were, but a lot of your comments come off as unnecessarily aggressive. Starting a comment off with “Really?” and then talking about how you would clearly do it differently and have a better outcome is seems dismissive in most situations. This honestly isn’t the worst example I’ve seen from you, and I apologize if my frustrations are being aired in response to the wrong example. But multiple others have called you out on it, so I don’t think I’m just making this up. And perhaps you don’t mean to sound condescending, but this is the internet, and you have to be aware the fact that without hearing your intonation, your comments can come off as as “catty” and underhanded rather than “suprised.” Sorry for being so snappy, but there’s nothing more I hate than people having their own experiences denied or dismissed.

I’m bumping my rating for this tea because I made a large batch of it for my husband to drink iced, and he seemed to really like it. So much so that I didn’t get any of it. Apparently it’s better iced. I’ll be making another batch, and hope that I get to try some!

So, the bottom of my IngenuiTea decided it wanted to float up in the middle of brewing this tea. so I tried to push it down with a spoon, and that somehow got the release mechanism stuck, so that when I wanted to stop filling my cup, it wouldn’t stop draining when I picked it up.

However, through all of this – the tea stayed yummy. This is a nice, clean, fresh tea and very enjoyable to drink. It’s a shame this set of leaves will end up getting ditched as I go through and try to fix my pot.

Yay for the power of good tea! XD

Had this again this morning. Wasn’t as good as I remember, although I think I got the water a little too hot. I didn’t get any hints of anything, just a mouth full of grass. Boo.

But I’m not going to drop the rating because I think it’s my own fault with the temperature.

But this may have been influenced by the dream I had right before waking in which I found out Klingons make tea out of different varieties of metal filings, and that the flavor of this tea is really influenced by the type of tea pot used. (My brain is a scary, scary place sometimes….)

Jillian

Bwhahaha! That’s an awesome dream. XD

I’m shocked I haven’t rated this yet. I’ve had it at work for a few days. And I’ve been drinking it a lot. Unlike the new A&D Damn Fine Jasmine, this is a much more delicate jasmine and green. The little pearls open sweetly, almost coyly sharing its flavor with you.

My current cup is understeeped, and I can’t recall if there are other highlights in the cup, but it’s a nice, simple jasmine green, and it’s good on a cold icky day like today.

Smells very exotic. I found the licorice very strong -it’s definitely the main note of this tea. It’s very tasty, soothing, and calming.

This was a swap tea, and I’m really glad I got to try it. Thanks Bethany!

Hello Jasmine!

This is very jasmine. The aroma in tin and in brew sings from the mountain tops – I AM JASMINE, HEAR ME BE FLORAL. And yet, it’s not too much in the tea. It’s a bold tea. And it’s good. I like it a lot.

I’m pretty sure when my tea talks to me, it usually just says “‘Ey, honey, it’s hot in here. Whaddya tryna do, boil me?” in a creepy Boston accent. And then it goes all bitter >;[

Bom bom bom! Bom bom bom-bom! Bom bom bom, bom bom….
Smoke on the water…. and fire in the sky

I’m working from home today, so I can finally get to try one of my Damn Fine Teas (I don’t drink caffenated teas after work, or I don’t sleep). So I decided to start with Caravan. I opened the tin without reading the description and WOW, it’s smoky. Like I’m outside by a campfire, smokey!!

It was a lighter color tea than I expected once brewed. The aroma – still all smoke.

This to me is a real man tea. It’s not soft, sweet, or flowery. It’s warm, and slightly mossy (in a good way) and rugged.

If there are other flavors in here other than tea and smoke, I’m losing them, but you know? The smoke and the tea? It works. I don’t know that I’d drink this every day, but I’ll definitely have days where I’ll want this tea. I’m definitely liking it today.

ooh, excellent. i was waiting to read a few reviews on the 3rd series before buying.

wombatgirl

Second steep, less smoke, more tea.

@Lena – I’ll probably try the green later today too – so that will give a little more feedback too. :)

Not bad but not great. The first time I tried this, I was using way too much leaf, and it was so vegetal and astringent that I could barely finish the cup. Today, I actually followed directions, and it was much lighter, and much less like drinking a glass of seaweed puree. i don’t have a good way to check the water temp here at work, so I’ve been winging it – I have noticed that the hotter the water I’ve used, the stronger both in flavor and in astringency.

I think this would work for you if you like strong, simple green teas.

Pumpkin seed seaweed?

I really don’t know where the name comes from.

Bio

I’ve got a lot of interests: sushi, science fiction/fantasy, medieval recreation, cooking (specifically medieval cooking), reading, British science fiction (Doctor Who!), hand sewing and now TEA!!

My favorites tend to be oolongs and flavored black teas. I like highly flavored teas more than delicate ones. Rooibos tends to taste like dirt to me, and hibiscus is very sour to my palate. But I’m always up to try all sorts of things, and will often find things that I really like which I thought I’d hate.
