wow, i love this chai! I’m very particular with my masala chai- i find that most mixtures usually taste only of cardamom. this one is just right! it’s peppery, gingery, clove-y…sort of like a strong gingersnap cookie but with cardamom. i added it to hot milk and a little sugar. lovely!!
this tea would be great if you’re not feeling well, it reminds me of the honey and lemon tea my mom used to give me when I was sick. it is very citrusy, but I didn’t taste much green tea or honey flavor. the citrus masked everything. I’d probably just keep it around for days when I’m under the weather.
trying to get back into writing tasting notes- tried this one today- smells mostly of cocoa which was interesting. I liked it though- it was actually smooth, not bitter at all for me. malty and chocolatey. I’d like a little bit of brightness though. not a bad sip.
A few friends gave me a lovely gift of assorted teabags from Radiance. Oriental Beauty was included in the box. The aroma is wonderful- honey and floral.
Just like the previous poster, I am surprised that it has such a sweet flavor! Honey is the predominant flavor, and I also taste some apricot. This tea is very soothing, and gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling! I’m not getting much ‘oolong’ flavor though, since the honey is so strong. I will try another infusion to see if that changes. Still a lovely tea.
trying this tea for the first time. I’m fairly new to Pu-erh so i wasn’t sure how long to brew it. Ended up washing the leaves, then brewing it for as long as it took to stop by 14 month old from eating food out of the cat’s dish. resulting brew was slightly smokey, and has the leathery taste I’ve been encountering with the few Pu-erh’s I’ve had. similar to tobacco, or a chinese herb shop. a very subtle hint of sweetness. Didn’t notice the chrysanthemum at all.
This tea wasn’t bad- a solid english breakfast. I love that it is decaf, so I can drink it any time that I am craving a black tea. I’m not getting many distinct flavor notes, a little malt, perhaps. I haven’t tried this brand before, I’m looking forward to tasting some of their other offerings!
This is a tasty but basic black tea, with a great cause. The leaves are tiny, dark, and pellet-like. Not what I was expecting, but I didn’t want to judge on just the leaf appearance alone. The leaves have a lovely sweet cocoa scent.
After steeping, the liquor tastes of whole wheat toast, and dark chocolate. It is a strong brew that is very basic, perfect for the morning and would hold up well to milk and sugar. It’s an easy tea to over-steep, so be very careful A teaspoon for each cup is more than enough, and watch that you don’t steep for more than 3 minutes. Not the best black tea I’ve ever had, but good, and the proceeds go to a good cause!!
gorgeous dark twisted leaves lead to a very light green brew. The liquor smells like roasted broccoli to me. vegetal but roasty, with some seaweed thrown in. the taste is of kelp, asparagus, and a little bit of honey thrown in. it is mild and refreshing. i prefer a stronger pouchong, but this is a great all-day tea.
peppery, gingery, clovey….I like it!
