For us at Yuuki-Cha it’s always a pleasure to introduce Saemidori in any form of Japanese green tea let alone as a rare traditional pan-fired organic Kamairicha from Gokase Town! Saemidori is without a doubt one of the best cultivars that Japan has to offer! It really is such a wonderful cultivar when cultivated organically and is so very highly praised by growers for it’s exceptional quality that it’s just not possible to turn down.
The tea liquor is a bright yellow with a taste that is so deliciously and delicately smooth and sweet, yet lively and flavorful, too. If you’re a connoisseur of tea you’ll not fail to notice the qualities this cultivar possesses, especially when it’s beautifully presented as a pan-fired organic Kamairicha such as this!

By the by, ordering from Yuuki-Cha is such a pleasure.
I’m finding that this one features a very fine line between not flavourful enough and too bitter. When I manage to brew it in that sweet spot, it’s very sweet but quite mild. It has a similar buttery hay flavour as the Minekaori, but milder. If I go a bit too long, it’s quire bitter. Still an excellent tea that I’m not sorry to have to finish up, but not a contender for favourite.
