At Ogose Tea Garden, each tea field produces tea specifically for one product. There is a tea field for only houjicha where cultivation, harvesting, and processing is done exclusively for houjicha. First flush tea leaves, usually used for sencha, is made into houjicha. This creates the rich flavor and the beautiful color of amber.
