Description

Kukicha is a type of green tea made from the tea stems. After the initial processing of tea leaves (aracha), they are then filtered, separating thee tea leaves from stems and small broken leaf bits (konacha or mecha). By collecting these sorted stems, kukicha is made.

The stems themselves have a much sweeter taste than regular sencha as the stem contains more natural sugar.
