Ma Zui Shi is a small village in the mountains north of Jinggu county that sits at an altitude of almost 1800 meters. The tea that we used to hand roll these dragon balls was harvested in April 2021 from a small grove of trees growing wild. In total only 14 kilograms of this tea was harvested from the spring pluck. To maximize the accessibility of this tea Xiao Yao’s mom steamed and hand-rolled dragon balls from this tea. Each dragon ball is individually wrapped in foil with a sticker featuring the characters “Ma Zui Shi” 马嘴石.
This is wild tea with a full complex taste. It’s not harsh or in desperate need of aging to make it palatable, it’s just great tea with very pleasant qi!
