Processed with very light oxidization and roasting this Feng Qing area tea has a strong taste with some astringency and a long floral sweet after-taste. This tea will continue to age and develop over the years.

Excellent choice for longer-term storage or just longer shelf-life for the lazy tea drinker!

Spring 2023: Another lovely black tea from YS at a great price! I get amaretto vibes from this tea with nice woody notes akin to a shou mei tea. Hints of caramel, chocolate, and spice, plus even some red grape winey notes creeping in. Good lingering aftertaste as well. Not too light, with some oomph that makes it a decent breakfast-style black tea. Warning: I do not use any additives in my tea, so a “strong” tea for me might not satisfy somebody who wants to add milk etc to their tea.

I got this black tea for more casual drinking and kombucha, and it fulfils such purpose very well. The smell is fruity and malty with lots of sweet notes like caramel. Wet leaf aroma is then more forest-like.

The taste is robust but not agressive. There is a very nice bread crust and cacao bitterness, as well as mild malty sweetness. After drinking, a pleasant, almost floral fragrance persists for quite a while. Overall, I like the tea a lot.
