This Autumn HLH production is appropriately called “雨后初晴” or “After the Rain, Clear Skies”. In the area of Yi Wu and southern Yunnan in general the summer season brings the southeast asian monsoon rains. It rains heavily from June to early or mid September. The best Autumn teas come the period not long after the last of the monsoon rains have subsided giving way to lovely blue skies and drier conditions.
This tea cake is composed of late Autumn tea leaves and is a blend of ancient arbor material from two different villages north of Yi Wu town. The emphasis is on strong taste and cha qi. The tea has both bitter and astringent qualities which bodes well for it’s long term prospects
