Shuangjiang Mengku Tea factory the most famous tea factory in the Lincang area of south-western Yunnan has produced this cake for a second year. The leaves used are all from Wild (not ancient) trees from the “Big Snow Mountain” a mountain that tops out at 3,200 meters above sea level, making it the highest mountain in Lincang county. Lincang is synonomous with high quality material used to make Raw Pu-erhs and such famous producers as Xiaguan and Nanjian and of the course the CNNP have used leaves taken from these areas.
This cake has a mellow character but with a sort of spicy/nutty golden yellow liquor. Recent years have proven that the wild trees of this variety will age well.Mengku no longer produces this cake, the last year of production was 2006.
