1 Tasting Note View all

“Kind of a harmless light ripe. Being 10 years old, it’s pretty much completely cleared. Unidimensional but not bad. It has a killer kick, which snuck up on me. It has an interesting qi.” Read full tasting note

Description

2008 Yi Pin Tang Qiao Mu Ripe 357g
Yi Pin Tang is a small tea factory located in Menghai town and is run by yet another Menghai tea factory manager. The tea is typically well-fermented Menghai material. The fermentation level is medium leaving room for future improvement while preserving the original “cha qi” contained in the leaves. This tea was fermented in 2007 and pressed in the beginning of 2008. It has been stored in hot Jinghong since that time and has lost most of its “dui wei” (literally fermentation flavor). Brews a nice dark wine red color and is smooth and sweet. A great ripe tea that will get better with age.
