“A nice, slightly different Yunnan black! It has a deeper, charcoal/cocoa flavor than other Dian Hongs that reminds me a bit of Fuijan blacks and the Sumatra Black Pearl from Mountain Tea Co....” Read full tasting note
Gao Li Gong mountain is located in Tengchong prefecture of Yunnan. It’s a high mountain area that has many dormant volcanoes, abundant hot spring and lush plants and soil. This premium black tea is composed entirely of tender buds expertly fermented by a local tea master. The tea plantation is a small family owned operation located at an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level!
The tea itself brews up a golden tea soup that hints of honey beer, with strong malty and sweet notes. It is very thick in the mouth and despite it’s subtle character has a strong cha qi and nice mouth feel. It’s also much more infusable than other lower altitude black teas!
Uniquely different than Simao and Feng Qing black teas!
