Gongfu!
This is one of those raw pu’erhs that starts quite soft in both taste and texture, but then sneaks up on you and becomes this really striking presence. The tasting notes are hard to pinpoint as there’s an almost ethereal quality to the soup; but fairy floss, pear skins, and corn silk all come to mind in different ways. Gentle, somewhat fruity and with an airy quality. The faint astringency and lick of bitterness in the finish only invite even more of that spun sugar sweetness in the aftertaste. I felt calm, relaxed, and float-y by the end of this session. It’s one of those teas that you just want to steep every last bit out of, and I definitely feel like by the end I had done that!!
