This aged raw puer cake was produced in 1998, made from Yiwu area material. The soup’s color reflects the dry storage environment and the tea retains some astringency in the early steeps. The fragrances and flavors evolve over the course of a session, with a honey like sweetness over a woody base. The Yiwu has plenty of endurance (At least 12 steeps should not be an issue) and a thick body that coats the throat. The tea is clean and was stored in excellent conditions. For fans of older dry stored teas, this is a must try.
This production is a re-make of an earlier production of cakes from over 50 years ago.
