This flavorful and ripe Chinese tea was harvested from semi wild Arbor trees in Menghai in 1991, and dry stored in China’s state owned tea factory in Kunming under specialized care.
Ripened to perfection, this bio-dynamically farmed pure organic tea was picked from ancient wild arbor tea trees using traditional methods to ensure a full bodied, complex taste with absolutely no bitterness.
Full flavored and aged to perfection, this over twenty year vintage tea really is something special. Hand plucked before pan firing and sun drying, our Rare Wild Arbor Ripe Pu- Erh has undergone highly specialized wo- dui aging in order to provide a perfectly clear tea soup in a deep burgundy color with a rich, high aroma and fragrant, robust strength.
This 1990’s Rare Wild Arbor Ripe Pu- Erh can be brewed up to seven times, with the brewing time extended each time after the first usage. Simply put 3- 5 grams of tea into a warm teapot, and add freshly boiled water at a ratio of around 1:50 parts. Brew for just a few seconds, before emptying out the water and steeping again for a further ten seconds before pouring.

It’s 20 year old tea. That’s cool. My tasting notes on this aren’t very concise because I’m also smoking hookah and eating pizza rolls, but lemme tell you, it’s some dark tea. Full bodied, full flavored, earth, and leather. I’ve never really been much of a puerh drinker but I seriously appreciate that there’s no fishyness in this one like I get with some shu puerhs. It’s just very leathery with a sweetness on the finish. It’s probably not the best 20 year old puerh out there but, it’s ok.
EDIT: No, you know what? It’s better than ok. It’s fruity after five steepings. I’m bumping up my rating.
Almost bought this one on my last spectacularly large sample order from Tealux. Will definitely put it on the list.
Blame it on the hookah, but now I’m wondering if there were any pu’erh lovers in The Sergent Pepper Lonely Heart Club Band… That’s what your review made me think of…imagination running wild tonight! (major lack of sleep)
