“This is a very unusual green tea, Utopian is right to give people a forewarning as i’ve never had anything quite like it. I would say the best way to describe the flavor of this tea is stone soup....” Read full tasting note
This heavy tea comes directly from Fujian, China, and plucked from budding “big white tea” aka Dahao Tea. Plantations carefully pick the desired ‘one leaf with one bud’, each to undergo a spiraling process, thus giving this tea it’s distinctive name.
It’s body is spherical in shape, consisting of tightly wound granules (similar to that of Gunpowder tea). The spiral leaves are dark green in color, few covered with some down. Once steeped, this tea gives a rich and mellow aroma, heavy and thick in taste, and shows off it’s gold-green liquor. Some even say they notice a smoky layer embedded within the taste.
Experience this heavy green tea, perfect for big meals, and packed with deep, bold flavor. It’s a must try for anyone who appreciates earthy tones displayed in all aspects of their tea, as this is a very non-vegetal tasting green tea.
