Earl Grey (loose leaf)

Earl Grey is a fabulous tea, and Twinings does a great job with it. Not the most extravagant, but certainly delicious and enjoyable. I added a pump of sweetener, made a really large mug, and enjoyed it as it cooled from boiling to room temperature.

This will always be Earl Grey to me. I like it sweet and with milk, although that is probably a travesty. Bergamot is wonderful!

This is the first Earl Grey I ever tasted. The aroma of the tea is always pleasant. I enjoy this tea, but also like Twinings “Signature Earl Grey”.

This brand of tea is the first version of earl grey Ive tasted. I love the powerful flavour in this tea. I have two tablespoons of honey. This is great hot or cold. Makes a great Iced Tea.

I grew up drinking this when no-one could be bothered to shop for anything more exciting (that was a lot of the time). The tea base is good and the bergamot pleasing, but both are coarse in stronger brews (the bergamot more so than the base). Must be bought fresh — I’ve drunk too much of this abandoned in an armoire from years-past visits from England!

Previous reviewers are correct in that there doesn’t seem to be a lot of quality control between batches.

Enjoyed a cup of Earl Grey this afternoon. I like to keep the tea ball in the cup as I drink it so that by the time I get to the bottom of the cup the tea is especially bitter. Brings back memories of 8 AM chemistry lectures.

Pretty much the only tea I’ve been drinking. New to the world of tea so slowly starting to expand my tastes, but I really like this. Have been making it every day for a week. A bit weaker than I would normally make it, but still tasty. Also, I like this more than Tazo’s Earl Grey that I had last weekend. The Twinings has a much less overpowering flavor than the Tazo;s.

A full tin of this is all the tea I have left, at work.

Eventhough I added almost three heaping teaspoons of this in my 12oz mug, the flavor still isn’t very strong. But it isn’t bitter either. So I guess it’s okay. Kind of bland. But it’s better than no tea at all.

If you like a simple, mild black tea scented with just a smidgen of bergamot, then this is for you.

I’m a big Earl Grey fan, my normal everyday tea is a mix of 3/4 black tea with a 1/4 Earl Grey and its magic every time.

Twinings seemed to have cracked it with this blend as the bergamot isn’t overpowering nor is it lost amongst the tea itself.

Really a top blend and my preferred premium Earl Grey.

This could be one of those “now that I’ve tasted loose leaf, I’m never going back.” It really is much better than bagged tea. I never thought I would drink a black tea this smooth. The flavor isn’t very strong because I didn’t use much leaf and I put it in a big cup, but it’s still really good.

I say it could be one, because while I like it a lot, 1) I don’t have the budget to buy as many different kinds of loose leaf tea as I have in bagged tea and 2) this tea still isn’t good enough to make me unlazy. I’m glad I bought a tin of loose leaf so that I can enjoy the good stuff when I like and still throw teabags around when I just don’t want to think too much about the particulars of my tea.
