From Twinings

Fine black tea expertly blended with the citrus fruit flavor of bergamot, to deliver an uplifting tea with a unique floral aroma and refreshing taste.

Twinings has been blending my family tea for years. Today, I am proud to continue this tradition with the tea celebrated throughout the world known as Twinings Earl Grey. Legend has it, that my ancestor, the second Earl Grey, was presented with this exquisite recipe by an envoy on his return from China.

One of most refreshing teas ever, drinkable at any time of day. Fresh flavor of Bergamot comes instantly, even before the temperature of tea. Classic.

I drink it every morning religiously, with a dash of soy milk and honey. Lovely notes of bergamot, smooth tea, and avoids the icky ‘liquor’ taste of other, lower quality Earl Greys. As for steep times, to be honest I usually skip my careful measurements of steep time altogether and leave the tea bag in for the entire time I drink it. It doesn’t seem to overbrew at any point. I pour boiling or near-boiling water over it, and as soon as it cools enough I start drinking it.

Earl Grey happens to be my favorite tea. Of all the different brands I’ve tried, this has the best flavor.

I’m not yet a tea expert, but this EG does what it should to deliver a satisfying and balanced flavor. It’s not incredible, the flavor doesn’t stand out from other bagged EGs I’ve tried, but it’s a solid choice for a morning tea. Goes well with milk and sugar, but I usually drink it just lightly sweetened.

I have thought that I would like this, but I haven’t. It is so citric that tastes like dishwashing liquid. I can only drink it blended with another black tea.

The bagged version of Twinings Earl Grey was my first experience with hot tea. However, my sister recently brought me a tin of the loose back from London. It is levels above the bagged version, and reminds me with ever sip why Earl Grey is still my favorite tea. Also, makes me want to go home and watch episodes of Star Trek Next Generation on Netflix.
