Another purchase from my Tiesta Tea haul. This is nice, but I’m not really getting pancake from it, as it’s not bready. What I am getting, is a slightly creamy, sweet maple and nut taste. It was faintly sweet on its own but I added some nonetheless and it really brought the flavor out. While this is nice, it isn’t quite blowing me away; however, I will say that I prefer this maple flavor way more than the one from Davidstea, so there’s that.

Will reserve further judgment/rating till I’ve had it a few more times.

With milk and sugar, this is pretty decent. The maple flavor is totally there. It’s sweet and desserty. It’s decadent enough that I don’t think I could have it too often. I love this sort of thing, but actually this is somehow too much for me.

I think this sample is from Lindsay, though I’ve rebagged and labelled just about everything I’ve been sent, so I’m loosing track, since everything is in my handwriting now.

This oolong is very true to its name. There are sugary, syrupy notes, and a buttery quality that really makes this feel like it is sipping up the essence of pancakes.

A very nice dessert tea, though the flavourings are strong and sweet enough that they border on cloying. The syrup note reminds me more of maple-flavoured pancake syrup than real maple.

Overboard TTB #7

For some reason, there were a lot of maple-flavored teas in this box and I seem to have grabbed all of them to try! This one was tasty, but not my favorite. The base has a great silky mouth feel and supports the flavors well. I’m getting a definite maple flavor, along with a nutty/buttery taste that I can imagine to be pancakes. This isn’t something I need in my collection, but I enjoyed sampling it and would definitely drink it again.

This was interesting- I can see why it is called flap jack, though I get more of a buckwheat pancake type of breads flavor. The maple was so mild I added a drop of maple syrup to enhance it.

I enjoyed it, but I happen to be super duper picky about pancakes! And as it happens, just as picky about pancake tea.

Overboard TTB.

The main note I get from this is a creamy note. There is also a secondary note that one might describe as maple. I don’t know what to say about this tea except that I will not be buying any. I will finish the cup however.

I brewed this one time in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 190 degree water for 3 min.

Tea of the afternoon here that was part of my big Tiesta order from a few weeks ago. Sorry to write such a brief review, but I’m busy today.

This just sounded so good! Flapjack oolong… maple syrup and nutty with a dark oolong. yummm. Unfortunately I felt the flavor here was pretty light. I was definitely hoping for something for more intense, but in the bright side, at least it wasn’t artificial. You do get notes of maple/nutty/pancake but they are very faint. I think the best idea I had with this was to sweeten it with a tiny bit of maple syrup. Then it was perfect. Not bad but not quite flavorful enough for my personal tastes.

If you want I can send you a sample :D

steepster ate my comment that today is national pancake day in the USA so you must have another cup to celebrate even if it wasn’t quite flavorful enough (add more maple??) its all in fun!

Not a bad tea, nothing extraordinary, but pleasant tasting. It does have a maple flavour to it and it endures through multiple steeps. There is also a nice walnut taste to the tea.

I love oolongs, but generally straight without any added flavours. This is a nice one for the morning as it has a nice sweet, grassy flavour… I wouldn’t say pancake flavour, but it was definitely maple flavoured and delicious still.
