Cascadia is a wholesome and hearty barley tea blended with juniper berries. Barley tea is commonly consumed across East Asia, particularly in Korea and Japan, and is enjoyed for its sweet and toasty flavor.
Our blend features premium ‘purple karma’ barley from the Tuality Plains Great Grains initiative of Oregon whose mission is to reinvigorate local production of heritage grains.
Collected in 1924 by an American visiting Tibet, this heirloom variety of hulless colored barley was brought back to the United States and tucked away for many years in the USDA Seed Repository in Idaho. Once rediscovered, it was named “Karma.”
Barley is high in soluble fiber.
