My iced tea of the afternoon. This time I cold brewed overnight in my Fiestaware Disc pitcher. About 60 oz water, and 6 teabags, at least 8 hours. Perfect with no additions. I don’t ever plan to hot brew this tea again!

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more

I have this tea and it unimpressive for me hot, but with your recomendation I’m going to give it a second chance iced. I’d be happy to use up the tin because I hate to waste tea :)

The hot brew was…well, a hot mess, even after icing it. I dumped it. This tea cold brewed, however, has me considering buying more…..

Jenn

Good to know! I’ll do a strictly cold brew.

My mom was holding on to sachets of this stuff that had an expiration date on the bottom of the tin of 2008 LOL

She made the final sachets into iced tea and I had some today and it wasn’t bad at all for its age. Not very blueberry tasting anymore but just slightly berry in the mix of the green tea.

But I am not letting her make any old tea anymore, I of course finished it and then saw the date on the tin!

My Dad also has a bunch of expired tea – I jokingly refer to it as his vintage collection

The smell of the leaf is really good. I can smell the tea for once. Brewed, the blueberry dominates but wonderfully so. The tea (which I can actually taste for once) blends well and changes the flavor to more blackberryish. It isn’t an in your face flavor, just pleasant. I would not want this every day but it is something I would enjoy on a regular basis. I know many of you won’t sweeten a green but I think you should try it once with this tea. Yum.

I tried this tea iced. While it was fruity, I didn’t detect BLUEBERRIES, specifically. I found that there wasn’t anything that really distinguished this tea from Republic of Tea’s other fruity blends. Perhaps if I try it hot, I’ll get more of a blueberry flavor. I love blueberries so I hope it’s true!

I have just brewed a cup of the tea and I must say its smell and taste are not very strong. I can slightly smell the blueberry and I’m not sure I taste any blueberries in this tea. I put a blueberry honey in it and it tastes a little better. It’s not a bad tea, just not very strong.

This tea also got a little better once it was cooled. I’m thinking I’ll use this to make some iced tea so I don’t waste the tea.

Oh em gee, it is the very verge of summer in my basement!
The smell alone makes me want to get up and dance. I want to play in the puddles. I want to buy a popcicle from a truck playing horrible cartoonish music. I want to pick little wildflowers. I want to rake the winter out of my lawn, put down some chairs, take this tea outside and sit and enjoy the light breezes that generally accompany the end of spring.
What a great smell!
(It could be because I bought this tea around this time of year…?)
I don’t know that I necessarily get blueberry out of the smell, but I absolutely get the blackberry.
I’m not a massive fan of the weightlessness of this tea, but the flavour is decent.
Kind of dances along the tongue and then right down your throat. Doesn’t stick around to tell you its story. Sweet, but not terribly so. (I’m drinking this one au natural, because I can’t stand to milk or sweeten green teas.) And, because the tea is OLD (like maybe two years old?), it has a last-second kick to the back of my tongue that I don’t like at all.
But that’s not the fault of the tea by any stretch.
Tasty. Better than the bunk hot chocolate I though I’d wanted.
(Turns out I didn’t. But that didn’t stop me from drinking it or the 30-odd mini marshmallows I threw in it…)

ETA: I’ve changed my mind about the weightlessness. It adds a LOT of the freshness to this tea. Even though I’m drinking it hot, the weigtlessness combines with the slight fruit and bitter-less green tea to give it an almost cooling sensation. Very unique, and makes it feel even more like summer. I’ve added 5 points to my rating because of it.

I found this to be mild, which sometimes is nice. It is especially pleasant in that it isn’t bitter at all and the blueberry flavor was really all I got out of it. However, if you are expecting a fruity kick as you would get out of the other Superfruit teas from The Republic of Tea, you will be underwhelmed.

I’m spoiled by the awesome 52teas fruity green tea blends. This one from the TTB is just pretty meh in comparison. I taste fruitiness and low quality plantlike green tea. It’s fine cold, but boring. It was also really cloudy for some reason?

I love this tea. The blueberry flavor is subtle, yet present and very pleasant. I was surprised how smooth and soothing this tea is and how the flavor is not overwhelming.

Another work tea that’s gone now. Leaf smelled pretty, lots of blueberries. Tasted like hot water with a little bit of green tea until I got to the bottom of my cup. Then, blech. Oversteeped green tea taste. Wish the smell translated more into the flavor.
