Let’s get naughty!
We turned this naughty holiday drink into a more forgiving indulgence by blending the warming flavors of nutmeg, vanilla and a touch of rum to create the custard-like drink that we all enjoy! This holiday season say “cheers” with a cup of our EggNaughTea! Try with a splash of milk or rum if you really want to be naughty!
Preperation Use 1 tsp per 8 oz boiling water, steep 5-7 minutes.
Ingredients Organic honeybush, organic nutmeg, marigold petals, freeze dried marshmallows (sugar, corn syrup, water, modified cornstarch, contains less than 2% of gelatin, sodium phosphate, natural and artificial flavor, blue 1), natural and organic flavors.

Another one I get to try from TastyBrew’s awesome package! I really appreciate it! I found some eggnog yogurt in the fridge in my dream last night, so I thought I’d try this one this morning! This one sure has a strong scent. The dry blend is long twisty black leaves with a few yellow flowers. To be honest, this one is very much like the pumpkin cheesecake. But they are both spicy dairy products, so maybe that is the case. I think the cheesecake has more of a flavor than the eggnog. This one has a bit of spice (again that mysterious spicy flavor while not actually having spices in it), not so much eggnog. Flavorful, I just couldn’t guess it was actually eggnog. It seems to have the same flavor both hot and cold which is odd for any tea. The black tea itself has a mid-level strength flavor profile. Light, yet still a bit dark. I like all three of the Necessiteas I’ve tried! (And oh man I want to try them ALLLL.) I can’t believe I had to add this one to the system… but it wasn’t even on NecessiTeas site!

After a five minute steep I’m getting a weird bit of flavour in this. It implies eggnog but there’s some kind of aftertaste. And there are none of the spices one would associate with eggnog, and it’s missing the creamy note that makes Butiki’s Creamy Eggnog my ultimate tea.
This flavoured black tea doesn’t hold a candle to that, but I’m glad I got to try it, though I’m hesitant to finish my cup, it tastes like chlorine or something. Blech.
Homemade Advent Calendar from AJRimmer: Day 24
AJRimmer had already removed the marshmallows from this blend since neither of us eats gelatin, so I cheekily added a few vegan marshmallows to the blend while steeping!
I can’t decide if this is eggnoggy or not. It’s reading as custard to me, with notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. It does have a decent amount of body, too, which is appropriate for a nog!
Flavors: Cinnamon, Creamy, Custard, Nutmeg
This tastes really similar to another Necessiteas tea I’ve had before. It’s nice and desserty with milk and sugar. The spices are delicious and french toast-ish. I’m enjoying this cold. I removed the marshmallows. I’m not sure why so many Necessiteas teas have them since it makes the teas not vegetarian friendly.

Mostly, this tasted very strongly to me of honeybush, but had hints of creaminess and, for whatever reason, lemons as well. I think from a tea based around Eggnog, I just wanted a much richer flavour with a more pronounced eggyness or nutmeg quality. As is, I didn’t tasted any sort of nutmeg or other spices at all and not nearly enough custard like flavour for me to feel like I could have even blindly named this as ‘eggnog’. That said, when I put aside the lack of accuracy towards the named – it wasn’t bad for what it was.
