Description

From one member of the family who own the highest altitude tea garden in Cha Wang Di (also known as Cha Wang Shu). This tea was picked and hand processed by one person. In Cha Wang Di, there are many old trees interspersed by young trees that have been planted relatively recently. Most farmers there pick both together. This production was only from the older trees – some growing naturally tall and some that had been cut short in the 90’s when the villagers were encouraged to grow corn instead of tea!

Drinking this tea, it immediately becomes obvious how pure this small batch of tea is. The total quantity that he produced was slightly over 23kg. We bought half of it. Of that, we’ve decided to keep half for ourselves to store for the future and offer 6kg loose as maocha.

The tea is very thick and pure in the mouth, opening up really after a couple of infusions. The flavours are clean and precise, the qi is pronounced and the tea coats the mouth and throat, inducing saliva and lingering pleasantly for a long time.

Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s an autumn tea, this tea can really stand on its own & tea of this purity and quality rarely comes onto the market.
