Description

From the website:

This is an original cake from Mr Zhang: a small “serie” produced for his own reserve.
This Pu’er is different from the “Jingmai 2007”we had last year.It is not the same harvest. The leaves were picked on some very old trees selected by Zhang in a family garden of Man Hong area. Withered, roasted, rolled by hand and dried in the sun, they were gently stone-pressed in his factory, in Menghai.

Notes on tasting (for 7 grams of tea in a 120ml porcelain gaiwan – short and multiple brewings).
The cake is made of brown leaves slightly compressed. The liquor is clear, amber-colored with orange reflections, “whisky”. First one discovers balsamic bouquet, wood and vanilla, and fruity notes.
In the mouth it is a round tea, soft and supple. One finds a fresh and balsamic base note. Then comes a fruity bouquet (candied citrus, blackberry jam, spices). There are also characteristic aging aromas (wood, humus). The astringency is light, there is very little bitterness even on long infusions. Qi is powerful, warming.
