From Teekanne

“Fireplace Evening”

Rooibos tea with the wonderfully wintry taste of sweet marzipan. For enjoyable, warming tea moments, like in front of the fireplace.

Sipdown! (27 | 243)

The last swap sample for the night!

This is not my favorite. But I knew that going in, as it’s a marzipan-flavored rooibos, which to me sounds like a terrible combination ha ha. I find I don’t enjoy marzipan and amaretto-flavored teas these days, I just find them overly sweet and cloying, almost like there’s artificial sweetener added. And I feel like that somewhat boozy amaretto-like note also tends to bring out the medicinal quality in rooibos and ends up tasting like cherry cough syrup. That’s pretty much the case here, overall it reminds me of cloyingly sweet cherry medicine. I don’t taste orange, and maybe just a hint of cinnamon.

So obviously not a favorite, ha ha… But I definitely appreciate the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone every now and then, as tastes tend to change over time. :)

Another German tea. The description reads:

“Rotbushteemischung mit Orangen-Zimt-Marzipan-Aroma.”

This roughly translates to “Red bush tea mixed with orange, cinnamon, and marzipan flavor.”

It is delightful!
