This tea is sweet and it was the first thing I noticed before I got a good sense of the flavor. Cane sugar is the #2 ingredient for this drink and it packs a whopping 34g of sugar per bottle. That’s a lot of sugar! I don’t normally sweeten my tea at home and on the handful of times I’ve made a tea latte myself it hasn’t been this sweet. This fact in itself is enough to keep me from purchasing it again since I’m trying to wean myself off my sugar dependency.

The black tea base tasted very familiar although it was hard to pick out the flavors over the sugar, milk, and Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C.) It was interesting to note that the milk helped temper the bitter notes that are normally found in bottled tea. I was a bit curious about that when I first purchased the bottle since there are a number of bottled teas I won’t drink because the Ascorbic Acid drowns out the flavor.

This is different than Teas’Tea’s Matcha latte. It’s more traditionally flavored for those who might be turned off by the Matcha. Smooth and sweet. I actually think it’s overly sweet but I don’t normally like sweetened tea.
