Buds Kissed with Snow is one of our most classical China green teas. It is comprised of a mao feng pluck (2 leaves and a bud) which offers an abundance of delightful sweet flavor.
This tea has the distinctive flavor that one expects of an eastern China green tea: soft, focused, slightly grassy, with a hint of the nuttiness that we refer to as ‘chestnut’, and an aftertaste that lingers on the palate. Like our Tianmu Snow Sprout green tea from Fujian Province, this early-plucked spring is known as ‘Xue Ya’ in Chinese.
Buds Kissed with Snow envisions the freshness of early spring, when in certain special places tea bushes flush while there may still be snow on the ground (or in the air) and the temperature has a crisp snap.
NOTE: Buds Kissed with Snow will re-infuse several times; however, it is a bulky tea in terms of volume-to-weight, so it is important to use enough leaf in the water. Be sure to use a good heaping tablespoon of leaf per 6 oz. of water ( this measure will yield 100-150 cups of tea per 4 ounce quantity of tea, including re-steepings) so that every steeping is flavorful and that you enjoy every bit of goodness that this leaf will surrender.
