There aren't any tasting notes for this tea yet.
I need to get inspired to do some work so i pulled this tea out of my cabinet to be my liquid focus.
To be honest it has been up there for about a year so I didn’t have high hopes for the flavor. But I am on here to report that it’s actually quite a nice cup of tea!
It is a more old-fashioned or traditional oolong with the dark color and twisted leaves rather than rolled. The smell reminded me why I love the darker oolongs- warm, nutty, even a little bit evergreen.
Although its name is “fancy”, I would say that this is not a top grade oolong. The leaves aren’t those long, gorgeous ones you find in outstanding oolongs. They’re short and broken and I see some stems.
Even though this is an old tea, the flavor is still there- making me regret not taking it off the shelf sooner!
But it is a very nice reminder that oolongs don’t have to be bright green and floral tasting, nor do they have to be top grade- nor do they have to be brand new!- to make a lovely cup of tea for a regular day.
