Wondering where the Ringtong Garden came from and that you haven’t heard of it in a long time, if at all? We are not even surprised. The garden and its factory have a very turbulent history associated with the expulsion of its owners and burning by dissatisfied garden workers in 1996, and for 18 years we could not meet with tea under this name. It was reopened only a few years ago, when the owners managed to rebuild the factory and agree on working and salary conditions with the workers of the adjacent villages. We are very happy that we managed to get tea from this garden, as these are some of the best china bushes in Darjeeling. So we hope that the bell rings for better times (Ringtong in the example means something like a ringing of a bell) and we will meet teas from this interesting and well-laid garden more often.
