Description

A steamed green tea from Japan. ‘Fukujyu’ means “green spider leg”, which describes the appearance (don’t worry, not the content) of the leaves.

Tea was first brought to Japan along with Buddhism in the late 500’s and almost all tea grown in Japan today is green tea. Of the three grades of Japanese green tea, Gyokuro, Sencha and Bancha, Sencha is the most popular, the ‘every day’ tea. Fukujyu is one of the better grades of Sencha, made from the youngest tea shoots.
