From Steep City Teas

If strawberries and papayas got together and had babies, this is what that baby fruit would taste like. This green tea blend was inspired by the amazing Cuban-style smoothies or batidos made all over Miami. The only problem is that those shakes are probably extremely high in calories which always bothered us. Then it finally hit us, this should be a tea blend. Smooth, creamy-like strawberry taste with papaya under tones that will stay on your mind well after you drink it. It’s smooth and guilty free.

Green tea, strawberry pieces, papaya pieces, and natural flavors.

So i figured that i should try another of my Steep City teas, since i had a disappointment with the Vanilla Sky. Id been sort of putting it off because i was a little afraid that I’d be stuck with another 2oz of something i didn’t like BUT today i made myself try one! haha

I’m glad i did :) While this isn’t my absolute favourite tea, i really think this will be nice in the summer. There is for sure a strawberry taste to it and i love the chunks of papaya? in it :) My other half says it smells and tastes like swedish fish. I’m not sure i agree but it is a sweet fruity tea :)

Sipdown! Yum! I like this. I’m getting candy strawberry flavour, which I like, and it’s quite lovely. I could be convinced that there’s papaya in here too. The green base is pretty nondescript here, adding flavour in the background but nothing overly “green” – and no astringency!

Thanks for the sample, Sil!

ETA: Re-steep was pretty weak, even in half the water. Probably wouldn’t bother with it unless I was desperate.

Sipdown!

I made this iced, with slices of lemon, frozen strawberries and I threw in some chia seeds for texture. Very very tasty, strawberry tangy tastic!

Not sure if I’ll get more of this tea, but I will be doing another Steep City order, but I’m just so piled up with teas at the moment.

Very candy-like. The flavours are extremely sweet.

It’s ok, I suppose, but I’m more excited about other teas in my cupboard.

Thanks, Sil. :)

Interesting. But not quite what I was after.
I’ve been on the hunt for a delicious fruity green tea lately and haven’t had much luck. I want something with a berry tone, and I’d rather it not be sencha. Sadly, most fruity blends are sencha, because it pairs best with fruit tones! Maybe I’ll settle for a fruity tky, if I can find one?
Anyhow, this one is ok but a bit artificial tasting. There is definitely strawberry, and creaminess. Not to mention tons of sugary goodness.
I can definitely taste yogurt, which brings out a campino candy note that would settle any cravings if I had them :p
Overall… I wouldn’t mind having it around, but certainly not over another green blend so would have to drink down my entire stash and try most other versions first haha(nothing specific mind you).
Thanks to Sil for sharing her stash!

I had high hopes for this one, but the flavoring is too sweet and artificial for me. The aroma and flavor are both heavy on the strawberry candy notes. I’m not noticing any papaya, but then I often find papaya too heavy on sweetness and too light on any other flavor. This tea is very sweet, so it could well be that the papaya’s contributing to that. The green base doesn’t really come through.

This is my least favorite of the Steep City samples I’ve tried so far. I tend to prefer my fruity teas lighter/less sweet/more natural, and this blend’s just not to my taste.
