From Soocha Tea

Hwangcha literally means yellow tea in Korean. Yellow tea is the rarest of the six types of tea due to its time-consuming and labour-intensive process and small-scale production.

This Hwangcha is a very rare Korean yellow tea that undergoes a unique heaping process. The pan-fired and rolled tea leaves are heaped on a big shallow bamboo basket, covered with cloth and kept warm in an Ondol room (a Korean traditional underfloor heating system) under precise control every two hours. The complicated process and masterful techniques create a comforting combination of floral, fruity and honey sweet flavours.

Our Hwangcha is grown and processed by a certified organic farm. (MAFRA KOREA that has equivalence agreements with Canada, the U.S., the EU and the UK)

Origin: Hadong, South Korea

Harvest: May 1, 2024

Ingredients: Yellow tea
