From Rishi Tea

Lemongrass is an integral part of many food cultures throughout the tropics. Properly dried lemongrass leaves impart a complex citrus aroma with accents of rose, geranium and wild ginger. One day while eating in the village where our Yunnan teas are harvested, we discovered the local cuisine used a unique and wildly aromatic lemongrass. We encouraged the local people to increase their yields and helped them develop a drying technique to capture its fresh aroma. Our efforts to commercialize the indigenous herbs of the tea villages where we work increase incomes and product diversity within the local economy.

Made a pot of this today. It was actually very refreshing. A nice floral/lemony flavor with a nice black tea base.

Thank you for the sample Sandy

The lemongrass in this blend is surprisingly powerful, the brew ends up being quite lemony. Not that this is a bad thing. It’s like a pre-made Arnold Palmer. Iced, and with a lot more sugar, I think this would be a fantastic blend!

Thanks Sandy!

This is a sample from Sandy. Thanks!

The lemongrass fu is strong with this one. I agree with Dylan that it would be quite and excellent candidate for an Arnold Palmer. With some sweetner it’s much like tea with lemon.

I made this one and the Lemon Black at the same time, and shared with my colleagues.

The Lemongrass won 3 – 0.

It tasted more… natural! And lemony, but not bitter. Quite nice. :)

This is a big cup of yum. Hooray again for Portland and Whole Foods Market.

I love lemongrass and this has the perfect amount.

This tea smells wonderful and the lemongrass isn’t bitter or overpowering. I sweetened this up a bit with some honey.

I love lemongrass, and this is by far my favorite everyday morning tea. A cup after morning meditation and I am ready to take on the world. It is wonderful hot, iced or at room temperature and goes extremely well with Thai cuisine (especially Tofu Panang Curry). I don’t recommend more than two steeps, as the brightness falls off, but it is a wonderful tea to keep on hand to share with friends.

The first steeping is almost always too bitter for my taste, but the second is lovely so I do a quick (2 minute) first steep to open up the tea and rinse away some of the bitterness. The second pot is delicious with a strong citrus-y flavor and aroma.

Wow, very nice tea, lemongrass is present but not over powering, black stands out nicely and the aroma is very pleasant.
