Description

Ganpuer was made to commemorate late Mr. Fred Kempler, a french business man, an officer under the command of late General de Gaulle. In China, he was called by his Chinese name Mr. Gan.

In 1976 at the age of 60, Mr. Kempler was in a Hong Kong tea shop and found a small bird nest shaped tea called Yunnan Puer Tuocha. Nothing stopped him to make a trip to Xiaguan and ordered the very first batch of Xiaofa tuocha. Since then he was on a mission to sell Yunnan Puer Tuocha, touring around France with his young kids. But he was unsuccessful.

On a hunch, Mr. Kempler coordinated a research conducted at St. Anthony Medical College, and University of Lyon. The result was encouraging, The studies have substantiated claims that the tea helps reduce cholesterol levels and saturated fats in human, it could assist in weight loss.

Soon enough Mr. Kempler’s business was booming, from 2 tons in 1977, 8 tons in 1978, all way to 200 tons in 1991. He made Xiaofa tuocha.

A man to be remembered, and a quality tea was made to pay respect.
