Primula Flowering Teas are made by artisans in China. The flowering teas are comprised of hand sewn AA grade Green Tea with all natural flowers. The green tea is blended 5 times with jasmine to make for an aromatic scent. The package includes green tea with 12 different styles and colors. There is a lot of belief that the antioxidants contained in the green teas are very healthy. It is also believed that there are certain healing benefits for brewing flowers. The health benefit guide will take you through this journey.

After steeping for 5 minutes (water at 180°F), the bulb did not completely open and the flavor is very light. I can taste the sweetness of jasmine as well as the sweetness of the green tea. Overall a pleasant tea experience, not my favorite flowering tea but it’s certainly not horrible either.

I love flowering teas. :)) A few years ago, afriend bought me some-I’m not sure where. They were peach flavored. I thought the peach would overpower the light tea, but it was perfect, and not overdone at all! That is agood thing.

I’ve had a peach flavored flowering tea from Teavana. It was really good, in fact, if I ever do shop with Teavana again, I’d probably get more of their flowering teas (they also have a strawberry flavored one, I believe).

I know these are green tea but they really do seem to need lightly boiling water. It doesn’t get bitter – at least not by my taste buds.

I also had the peach one from Teavana. It was one of the samples they had out several times when I was there, and I thought it was very good, the salesgirl apologized before I drank it, saying it had very light flavor and she recommended the tea up front, but I sipped it and thought it had lots of flavor.

Brewed this up at work. Freaked out my co-workers :) Not a bad tea. French Pressed it. It’s just ok to me.

I have one of these at home somewhere, I still need to try it!

Not sure why this is called Guilded Lotus as Primula lists the ingredients as green tea, marigold, and jasmine.

I prepared this in my French press using 12oz of boiling water. As with all the green tea pods in the Primula variety pack the dry bloom smells strong of jasmine. The bloom was completely intact after adding the water. As it began to open it quickly sank to the bottom and began to release trapped air bubbles. The air had enough force that it knocked several petals of the flower loose. It eventually expanded into a massive yellow flower. Quite pretty.

I let it steep longer than intended as work got in the way. The brew was bright golden in the press and much deeper in the cup. The taste is primarily jasmine at the front of the sip. This is followed by a bit of bitterness and then a rush of sweet floral goodness in the aftertaste. With the following cups I was careful not to over steep. They had the same jasmine followed by sweet floral without the bitterness in the middle. This is maybe the sweetest tea I have tried. An interesting cup.

Lovely packaging, bloom, and slight to medium jasmine scent. Light in color. Delicate taste. You can smell and taste both the green tea AND the Jasmine. Very Nice. It says 3 steeps but I think I can get more. 1steep great. Other steeping resulting coming soon…

I’ve been freaking out office mates all day with this flowering tea in a glass mug. It looks a little Star Trek, it’s green tea tentacles undulating in the cup, like it could climb out and suck your brain. That’s one way to look at it I guess. It’s decent green tea with a rosy jasmine scent, too.

ROFL! That’s an awesome description – It’s alive….ALLLIIIIIVE! XD

My first tasting note but I’ll do my best to describe what I taste. ;P

Tea: Primula Guilded Lotus Green tea with Pomegranate flavoring.

I steeped this tea for 5 min in boiling water. The bloom opened up fairly quickly, probably within 3-4 minutes. Instead of preparing this in a teapot I used a clear glass mug. I also warmed the mug before brewing.

Now onto the tea. As soon as I poured in the water I could smell pomegranate and faint remnants of green tea. First sip was very much pomegranate. As I drank more I could start to taste the green tea more, and also a floral hint (from the flower, I assume). This also has a natural sweetness to it. Very light feeling in my mouth with a bit of a dry bite after swallowing.

Like I said I’m new to tasting so that’s all I have for now!
Cheers!

Second infusion has a much lighter pomegranate flavor and tastes a bit sweeter. I think I like it more than the first.

I would also like to add I am stationed in west Texas and the water here is absolutely AWFUL! Due to this and not having any means of obtaining any decent filtered tap right now I am brewing with Evian bottled water.

I love the way blooming teas look and taste, however I do find them difficult to drink because I hate the way the leaves and flowers tickle my lips. Or maybe I’m supposed to remove the bloom first? Am I doing it wrong?

I think you’re supposed to filter out the flower, like loose-leaf tea…

I have not opened it and thank god I didn’t. I am deathly allergic to Marigolds and this should be noted on the package or at least by this website

SHAME ON STEEPSTER BUT A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE USER WHO POSTED THE INGREDIENTS.

Forgot to review this when I had it a few weeks ago. From what I remember it wasn’t actually too bad, blooming teas don’t always get the best reviews. I forget the timing but I think I re-steeped it at least once. It had a nice light fruity flavor, I think it said pomegranate on the bag but others have mentioned jasmine? Not sure, definitely said guilded lotus on the package. It did a fine job of de-stressing me after my midterms.

This was a free sample that came with a teapot I ordered. Man was this a treat – reminded me of the liquid sugar drink they give you at the end of a Japanese meal.
