My first tasting note but I’ll do my best to describe what I taste. ;P
Tea: Primula Guilded Lotus Green tea with Pomegranate flavoring.
I steeped this tea for 5 min in boiling water. The bloom opened up fairly quickly, probably within 3-4 minutes. Instead of preparing this in a teapot I used a clear glass mug. I also warmed the mug before brewing.
Now onto the tea. As soon as I poured in the water I could smell pomegranate and faint remnants of green tea. First sip was very much pomegranate. As I drank more I could start to taste the green tea more, and also a floral hint (from the flower, I assume). This also has a natural sweetness to it. Very light feeling in my mouth with a bit of a dry bite after swallowing.
Like I said I’m new to tasting so that’s all I have for now!
Cheers!
I love flowering teas. :)) A few years ago, afriend bought me some-I’m not sure where. They were peach flavored. I thought the peach would overpower the light tea, but it was perfect, and not overdone at all! That is agood thing.
I’ve had a peach flavored flowering tea from Teavana. It was really good, in fact, if I ever do shop with Teavana again, I’d probably get more of their flowering teas (they also have a strawberry flavored one, I believe).
I know these are green tea but they really do seem to need lightly boiling water. It doesn’t get bitter – at least not by my taste buds.
I also had the peach one from Teavana. It was one of the samples they had out several times when I was there, and I thought it was very good, the salesgirl apologized before I drank it, saying it had very light flavor and she recommended the tea up front, but I sipped it and thought it had lots of flavor.
