From Østerlandsk Thehus

Luxury blend

Yet another of Østerlandsk 1889 Copenhagen’s own luxury blends. Organic Imperial Earl Gray is made from black Keemun tea blended with a little Ceylon tea, high quality hand pressed bergamot oil and orange peel. It does not get much better.

Taste

Classic Earl Gray flavor with an appropriate amount of bergamot and lovely orange flavor.

Brewing

Imperial Earl Gray tea is made from classic black tea, and to achieve the most optimal flavor, the infusion time should be 3 minutes. using 100 degrees of hot water.

2023 sipdown no. 57

I really came to love this tea once I figured out the best steeping parameters. The orange had a bite to it – a slight bitterness, which was expected with the orange peel pieces in the blend. However, the orange flavour itself was really lovely and truly orange. The orange slightly edged out the bergamot, but the bergamot was still present. The base tea was smooth with a lower temperature and shorter steep. I would add this one to my cupboard.

Finding the best steeping paramters is sometimes so hard and what’s worse, I do not write them down and forget them afterwards quickly :D
