1 Tasting Note View all

“This is a good tea to introduce coffee lovers to tea. It has enough caffeine kick for coffee lovers and is smoother than most coffee, I think. I like the hints of vanilla, and coco. I find myself...” Read full tasting note

Description

Full bodied and smooth. The roasted character imparts a coffee-like toast flavor, aided by the addition of coffee beans. Rich in mateine, which like caffeine is recognized as a stimulant. In fact many people find that they are more stimulated drinking mate then coffee, but without the jittery after effects associated with coffee.

If your trying to quit drinking coffee, but find teas effects too subtle, mate is worth a try.
EXTRA INFO:
In South America roasted mate, known as “mate cocido” in Paraguay or “chá mate” in Brasil is served sweetened, either hot or iced, with fruit juice or milk. The toasted variety of mate has less of a bitter flavor and more of a spicy fragrance. When shaken it becomes creamy (since the formed foam gets well mixed and lasts for some time), known as mate batido and it is more popular in the coastal cities of Brazil.
INGREDIENTS:
Roasted mate, rooibos, broken coffee beans, sunflower, blue mallow flower, marigold, and cornflower
ORIGIN:
Mato Grosso, Brazil
