Kilinoe “misty rain” is an eco-grown tea from the volcanic slopes of Mauna Loa, Big Island, Hawaii.
Hawaii’s fertile volcanic soil and island mists make it an ideal spot for tea farming.
Kilinoe is organically grown on a small tea estate with a system called “eco-farming”. The tea plants are grown under a canopy of endemic plant species at 3000-foot elevation and are irrigated with a 100,000-gallon pond filled with Asian catfish and koi.
Tealeaves are hand-harvested, then hand-rolled and hand-fired (pan-roasted) in a traditional Chinese fashion for a nuanced, complex flavor profile.
Kilinoe is an amazing introduction to Hawaii-grown tea; a mildly-sweet and fragrant tea that never over-steeps. Available for a limited time only.
