From Murchie's Tea & Coffee

This breakfast tea is highly recommended for lovers of Irish Breakfast, Prince Charles or other strong black teas, as well as people who really enjoy a good, brisk cup of tea to start their day.

Originally blended: 2014

Full bodied, brisk, malty and oaky, with a hint of natural smokiness. Great with milk and sugar – or drink it ‘neat’ for a rich, robust cup.

With this strong, well-rounded black blend with Assam, Ceylon and Yunnan teas, Murchie’s celebrates our Scottish heritage. (Grandpa John Murchie emigrated to Canada from Scotland, where he delivered teas in the Scottish Highlands)

Ingredients: Black tea (Assam, Ceylon, Yunnan)

Been drinking this one a lot from omgsrsly it’s the right sort of every day tea that doesn’t give me anything to complain about and just eases me in to the day. Will be sad when this one is gone but i have a few more cups to enjoy before then

I always figured Scottish breakfast teas would be strong enough to clobber you over the head, like the blunt end of a claymore, but the ones I have tried have been surprisingly mild. Good, but gentle.

OMGsrsly

I do like this one, and have a ton of it because someone at work bought 250g and ended up not liking it! Munchies has robust mail order though… I’m putting together an order for Sept as I’m almost out of Russian caravan. And they roast coffees too!

Drinking Murchie’s tea, shopping at the Hudson’s Bay for “back to school” and tuning into CBC radio or TV was just part of what it meant to be Canadian growing up on Vancouver Island in the 1980’s. For the last 10 years, this is one of my favourite brews when I want a strong cup to add milk and sugar to for a single brew. It makes for a robust, malty and hearty cup of tea without being astringent. There is a smokiness but not overwhelming. Just a good tea that I usually purchase by the pound to keep on hand at all times. Very good value!
