1 Tasting Note View all

“2021 sipdown no. 119 Thank you Cameron for this tea! This has a small amount of that oolong minerality, though it’s a smooth cup overall. Sadly, it does seem to be lacking in the magic I found in...” Read full tasting note

Description

This non-assuming and easy-to-brew tea is a great daily drinker, and along with its sister tea, #20 Red, is a fun cultivar study. The 4 Seasons cultivar is a classic cultivar in Taiwan that is grown for its beautiful floral notes and high yield all year round. As a red oolong, those strong florals are still present giving this tea a very unique flavor of green tasting florals in a bed of classic black tea malt notes. It is a great example of the cultivar and one that the fans of 4 Seasons will enjoy for sure! It will not win any awards for best in show, but it is a great daily drinker and cultivar study with a nicely affordable price.

**The sister tea to this red oolong, #20 Red, is from the same farm, produced the same way, by the same hands, at the same time, just using a different cultivar. We have included a way to try both below. Brewed side by side they are a fun cultivar study as the differences in the teas are subtle but undeniable!
